Hi, sorry to revive an old thread. I fitted 12mm front 15mm rear on my 290 and the front tyres were rubbing on the wheel arch plastic winglets/spoiler thing. I'm going to remove these. Does anyone know what there actual purpose serves.... cheers.

Car manufacturers fit those little plastic lips / wheel spoilers when there”s a risk the tyres may extend beyond the wheel arch edge. They are intended to cover any exposed sections of tyre tread when viewed from directly above the wheel - I believe that legally (in the UK), and for safety reasons, no part of the tyre should extend beyond the bodywork when viewed from above.
