What is the maximum wheel width I can have with 19' wheels on my 2018 Leon Cupra ST?
I've seen people using 7,5 and 8 but that seems pretty small compared to my previous cars.

8 x 19 ( et50 ) is standard wheel with 235/35R19 tyres

Many use 10mm front spacers and 12mm rear spacers without issues so you have some room for going wider.

EG - an 8.5 wide rim at et50 would only stick out an extra 6.35mm

An 8.5 wide rim at et45 would stick out an extra 11.35mm

Oh, okay. I use 15mm and 20mm spacers right now witg the original 19' x 8' wheels.

But would a 8,5' work with ET20? Because the wheel I'm about to buy I can choose from ET20-40.

et20 would be like having 30mm spacers on the stock wheels.

et20 + 6.35mmwould make the outside of the wheel stick out 36.35mm more than the standard wheels with no spacers.

Not sure how the car currently feels but from passed experience - changing the et by 30mm would give a horrid scrub radius.
The torque steer would be bad and the wear rate on wheel bearings will be excessive.

Any benefit of using spacers, (15mm front and 20mm rear) on a Cupra 280? Using it for daily driving at the moment, no track or overly enthusiastic street driving at the moment. Only performance mod at the moment is a res delete.

For me the only thing spacers do is make the car look more aggressive because the wheels sit a little further out.

If you go too wide - the outer edge of the tyre could catch the arch lip

My current wheel setup is 8.5*19 ET45 wheels with 245/35 tires. Car isn't lowered or has spacers. At first it rubbed like crazy on these little plastic arch things, and I don't mean when falling in a pot hole or anything but any time the road wasn't a smooth as a racetrack. Since I had them removed it still rubs but rarely.
