Hi just got my LCR last week from Seat in Leicester. I put it on a rolling road the next day, and i got 215bhp and 295 torque (Not REMAPPED, just call the last Keeper, and he had it from new). The car has 2 lights on the dash that light up when i start the car (EM and ESP, also i have no ABS or TC at the min). Also how much fuel should my car use i am putting £40.00 of 98RON every 2days, and getting 150 miles everytime. Seat say that the car is ok! What do you think? Is this good or a bad thing? Help?

Take it back ASAP and tell them to check the brakes!! Something is seriously not right in that dept. Assuming your not read lining every single gear change you should be getting roughly late 20s mpg combined cycle.
Power is subjective as RR vary a lot, seem slightly down on bhp but up on torque, either way straight back to stealers.

They have had the car already in this week. They r saying that it need a new ECU. I dont know why but that what they told me. I have not go over 80mph in it yet its running like a bag of sh*t m8! Just has no get up n go! My 51 reg Seat Leon Cupra was faster than this LCR m8 i had that cupra up 2 230bhp, my LCR is running at only 210 - 215bhp for a 225 that is at bit bad. I should of just got 210! LOL!

Yes Foxes it was do u know them? I heard that the sales is good, but a few people have sayed to me that they cant or dont what 2 help u when something goes wrong.

They sayed i was making up the fuel, but the trip computer said i am doing 5.0 mpg. Did Seat put a 2.8 20v Turbo init? LOL

225 it is safe 2 drive (i dont think it is doing anything bad), but with no ESP,or ABS u do have 2 be careful.

I would be very careful...... if you had an accident and an assessor or repairer found out you had no ABS you could have a right wrangle with your insurer considering its a standard safety feature on the car.

Surely a 225 is still under warranty?? If so, what the hell are SEAT letting you do in carrying on driving it?

Bang In The Middle.
Francis sales is poor!

If you ask personally for the Tecnician called Chris Dayton, sure he can put you right.

ive dealt with him in the past & very good and makes the time for you.

I have lost some power and need to take it back for him to see again, and he has told me that Seat HQ only allow them upto 2hrs of Warrantee work

HENCE; why i still have to go back & they tell you and everyone; "its all ok"

Pete, im assuming you meant 295 NM and not 295lbft.

There is a big difference!!

295 lbft would indicate it was remapped, 295 NM is around the normal standard figure!

£40 is 40 litres so only 3/4 full. You should be getting about 225 miles from £40.

The best way to monitor your fuel is to fill it all the way to the top until you cannot get any more in! Go past the stop and fill until a little drop pours down the side! You should get about 56-58litres in if you have run the tank down properly!

The next time you fill it up, do exactly the same and you will know for sure how much fuel you have used and how much mileage. You can then work out mpg figures!

If you stick in £40 thus only filling it 3/4 you'll never really get an accurate indication of MPG.

You should be aiming for around 300-330miles on 1 full tank of 56litres

Hi Chris you r right, the car was made in sep 2004, so it is still under Seat warranty. But because it was sold with Black Forge DV and Green Air Filter onit. They said they will not fix it under Seat warranty, and just give me the keys back!! Not v.happy with them!!

Your figures are normal and nothing to worry about!

Standard figures are 222bhp (225PS, not bhp. Its a slightly different measurement) and 208lbft

Your 295 NM reading when converted to lbft is around the standard figure

Perhaps slightly underpowered at 215bhp but that could be down to the temperature of the day, a little heatsoak perhaps!

I don't see how they can sell the car with a couple of mods then claim they caused a fault and refuse to fix it. Also don't see how a new valve and filter would cause an ecu fault.

If they won't fix the car, hand it back if it's within the 30 days.

I reckon the MAF is faulty.... On my Leon Cupra the MAF threw up the ABS/TCS light and I had no TCS etc, ECU fault was MAF reading too low... New MAF and it was sorted....

Yes Rob that is what i have told them, but they said that the MAF was ok, but when i call AMD up they said the same thing that you just did. Also AMD said that Seat cant test the MAF you just have 2 change it. But because of the parts that i have not put on the car they do not wont 2 fix it 4 me!
