little touches

FROM THIS

TO THIS

a good clean then some black leather dye tomorow i can giv the inside a good polish and have another go at cleaning my seats.
took the large Leone badges of but think it needs some small badge so kept the small cupra badge and the small r badge but they are badly worn now so i bought some oem ones as the cheap badges of ebay only last about a year and then the are worn , waste of money.

Done front and rear discs and pads, front turned out to be much more of a pain to do than rears, albeit all done and dusted! :)

Drove it and afterwards i washed it, polished it and cleaned my interior meticulously. I sprayed an A/C bacterial sanitizer inside the air vents and after that i made sure to preserve my leather as clean and conditioned as possible.

Discs and pads

Hiya guys,

Changed front discs and pads, done in about an hour. Have badly rusted and warped rears to change now, 33 quid later for a caliper piston wind in tool from Halfords ( ouch! ) got to have it though, then it starts chucking it down with rain, job for tomorrow maybe.

Programmed another key to suit the imobiliser
Replaced crash bar, both headlights, bumper grille and fog light cover. Rolled the offside wing back in to close the shut lines and pre planned where the FMIC is going to go (summer job).
Hoovered all the fag ash out of it and thought about replacing the standard stereo for a single din retractable android screen instead (to allow Torque OBDII display instead of fitting gauges)

Surprisingly easy job to do, just time consuming.

Thanks mate, yeh I'm hoping there gonna move ok, can't believe how crusty the rear discs have gone in last couple of months, absolutely no braking surface left and they have warped real bad, I guess they just don't get the same workout as the fronts.

heater

Changed the thermostat and coolant sensor, in hope that they were the reason for no heat. Also checked the water pump and still no heat. So looks like I'll have to do the heater matrix at some point.

Have you scanned the climate control module with vagcom? If you have no heat there may be a fault code stored

Replaced crankcase breather elbow, pcv piping with valve, hockey puck with new clips, cleared all codes and wait to see if I've solved the CEL. Might try a throttle body clean next...

I was originally looking for an fr as i was thinking about getting the diesel but was finding it hard to get the last run models that were using the cupra r bodykit. So just bought the cupra r .
she is looking well.

Mines is petrol mate, she's a 54 plate but the late 55 model, yeh I thought they were the same also until I tried to fit them and they wouldn't fit, I love my car but prefer the R body kit, once I get my Milltek exhaust fitted and mapped then just window tints and that's me just now, I prefer the standard look just now
