I must be the only person that doesn't like dynamic indicators to me it seems like there's something wrong with it.

I’ve never had dynamic indicators and they’re not something I’ve ever wanted. But we’re all different and like different things 🙂.

I went to go visit my poorly girl in the car hospital....

Good news: The brand new zero mile engine is in and the car is rebuilt!

Bad news.... When they were rebuilding, they found ANOTHER pre-existing issue.... An auxiliary coolant pump had been previously damaged and badly repaired.

Interesting fact - my car failed it's pre-collection MOT in 2024 on a couple things but one of them was a "fluid leak" which was never fully explained by the selling dealership and I requested documentation of that repair yesterday and behold, they sent over all the info from 2017-2022 but nothing for 2023 or 2024... Another failure to meet expectations in a LONG list of failures from the selling dealership.

This pump plus the condition of the headlights leads me to STRONGLY believe the car had a front ender at some point that was structurally repaired ok but had parts repair by Stevie Wonder... Just look at this headlight!!

One other major failure from the MOT is the driver side headlight was totally non-functional so was replaced.

I can't wait to get this car back and finish what I started with getting her up to MY level of quality.

Looks like they took a soldering iron to melt the plastic to seal the pump housing and the same on the headlight to get it to fit. Pretty unacceptable

I've collected dark headliner with all pillar trims, lights and other bits and bobs. Everything needs a bit of an cleanup but other than that it is in mint condition.

Well, everything apart from sun visors, which have broken clips. Previous owner does not have enough patience to remove them and, well... I don't blame him. Those are pain in the ass to remove. VAG engineers did a really awful job while designed them.

As far as I know those clips are unrepairable, second-hand ones are hard to find so I had to order a new ones. As a bonus I've ordered passenger side from UK version so now I've got two visors with clips and without airbag sticker!

Weather is not encouraging me to finish it so I've been driving without B and C pillars and lights for a few days now. Hopefully soon it will be finished ;)

Uploaded my stage 1 remap files from Unicorn for both the engine and dsg. They claim 375bhp but not really done much in the way of miles. Need to get the draggy out and set some times.
Getting wheelspin at the top of 3rd which is interesting and no more kickdown in manual with sport changing depending on throttle input so no more hanging on to the revs.

Also recharged the aircon so lovely and cold in the cabin.

This is reoccurring "what I did today" for me. Tiny stone chip lodged between brake disc and dust shield. (Or it could be between shield and caliper). Gave the dust shield a good banging (sorry neighbours). Wouldn't come out. Driving along started wiggling the steering like crazy and out it came. Horrific screeching prior to that.
Is this an issue for anyone else? It's happened to me 3 times this year already. I had no noise before parking up yesterday, so the stone must have settled in overnight and found a nice home.

I have had it twice but over like 5 years, most recent last year and I have to agree the screeching is horrific scares the **** out of me untill I recall what can cause it.

Is the driving profile selection display a familiar feature in the VC? New to me
