Guys,

Some of you might have read recently i've had some serious problems with my car with it not starting, Cam Belt making funny noises.

Well i have just had a call from the electrical engineer looking at my car and the ECU has got water in it and has died

I phoned SERE's who could get me one for £648 brand new but would need to come from Spain. I've been searching the internet and managed to find a 2nd hand one for £121 and the electrical engineer will re-code it all to my car.

My only concern is my car was chipped but that is all lost now does anyone know of anywhere that might be able to get the chip off and onto the new ECU without me having to buy a new one. I bought the car already chipped so not sure what type it is. My cousin has said if its a piggyback chip i might be able to move it to the new one.

Help

Well got my new ECU fitted and my god the car feels so different it still has power but just feels flat without the map on i have spoke to a company call ECU doctor and they have said if i send both ECU's down to them they will be able to get the map off the old ECU and put it back on the new one so getting a price and getting it sent off. A few more sunny days driving the wifes Peugeot Diesel :(

Cool glad it worked the reason my ECU got buggered was where the rubber grommet is between the bulk head inside where the wires go was missing and someone had put the cap from a silicone sealent gun in there instead so water was just pouring in whenever it rained or i washed it. Not impressed

Strange might be worth checking the seals there as its the same type of stuff they have round the door seals so can perish easily
