Hi guys not sure if this has been covered for my problem but if some one could give me some advise on if I'm doing this right is appreciate it.

So I've got a LCR 210 and a net book running windows 7 and I've also tried to do it on a laptop running win xp but no joy

I bought a HEX-CAN USB and software from deal extreme and once installed on the NetBoot It wanted the driver so I showed it to the path from the cd driver and it installed ok but my problem is that when I click USB test it finds the lead and says ok but I can only access engine and nothing else

I haven't got port in Device manager to change the port and try it that way and on the xp laptop it has but the lead only shows up in USB and not on port so I can change the port.

Every time I try and access any other option in vcds it says this :

I can see all the options in vcds

And it says registered fully but it just won't work :(

I'm on the brink of throwing the laptop out the window because it just won't work fully

Ignition is on and lead is in and I can access to read codes and clear them but I can't access anything else

Can anyone help me?

I hope I've included enough details but if not ask and il try to get the info.

It seems that this cable is one that should work. I had the same issues that you've had with an 04 touran 2 ltr tdi were I was only able to read the engine codes and reset those only. To be honest I have not got to the stage of doing any measuring block logs on that car. I have a gendan kll cable with fully registered ross-tech but I,m no computer geek so someone else needs to jump in.

The list price for that software & lead is $350.

You have bought an ebay ripoff, and will not get support from the manufacturer.

The current version is 11.11.6

You don't need Hex+Can in any case, VCDS Lite and a Gendan K-II lead will do almost everything on your car. You will need to register the VCDS-Lite to have it do anything more than read fault codes.

Would it be possible if you could to find me a link for me which will work if you wouldn't mind as I obviously don't know which lead :0)

The Can-Bus lead should work with KKL cars

But i agree you have got an Ebay rip off and thats why it doesn't work
