Valeo Areo Wipers (LHD ones)

Hi Guys

Well I may be opening a can of worms here, but at christmas i was in spain and popped into the local auto centre, and whilst pottering around I came across the wiper blades. It wasnt long before i spotted the aero ones, in single packs and different lengths.

Well I´m back in spain at the moment and have just purchased a 475mm (passenger side) and a 530mm (drivers side) Aero blade for my Leon.

When you buy them they are no use really as the spoiler is the wrong way round for a RHD car, so I´ve taken the mount off, turned it round and i now have a set of Aero blades the same length as the OEM ones.

I always liked the scenic ones but, lets face it they arnt the correct length. As for the cost, under €50.

Assuming G60Jet's measurements above are correct I believe it would be 21" and 19" but I haven't measured mine yet.

yeah they are the correct sizes, however the aero ones do extend about 5mm longer as they have plastic end caps on. I had to move my the passenger side arm 1 spline up. to make it clear the lower screen trim. But the one i got from spain are so good. my Passenger can see now too! lol.

I ordered the autobulbs retrofit aero wipers on Tuesday night and they arrived this morning. I fitted them at lunchtime and they work a treat! No more smearing and they look much better than the original wipers.

The passenger side end cap does touch the plastic trim on the edge of the windscreen but as far as I can see it's not affecting the wipers when they are on.

I need to go for a drive on the way home from work with the wipers on to see how they perform at high speed.

Yeah I noticed my drivers side wiper doesnt sit flush with the windscreen in the centre and sort of misses a bit when it wipes. I think all it needs is a bit more pressure in the middle of the wiper. I've tried to bend the wiper arm slightly but I can't bend it enough for it to make much of a difference.

I think at speed it will be fine? not tried it with a lot of water yet either so may be ok when there is more water? still doesn't make any noise though.

Will wait and see just seems not to change direction as it is fine going up the screen?

I think I've sorted the problem with the drivers side wiper not wiping on the way down. All you need to do is flex the plastic bit of the wiper in the middle (where the clip goes) up a little and you'll find the wiper sits flat to the windscreen and will wipe perfectly.

just fitted these wipers from autobulbs noticed on my lcr the passenger side blade is a bit long and does not sit on the windscreen when wipers are parked , maybe the size 18'' would be a better fit, just an idea if anybody else is thinking of trying these wipers. apart from that they look so much better than the originals just need a bit of rain now to see how they perform should not have to wait to long for rain we get plenty up here in the north.
