I know about that website as thats where I got the first set from 10yrs ago!......I input my MIB1 hardware part no, & it comes up with the MIB1 Zip file which is different to the one in your link...

Funny thing there are two separate "GB" files of logos on the Zip file!..One set is circa 2013yr & the other set is newer, & as per usually the local commercial radio station logo is not on there, so I'll source it elsewhere or make it up from a screenshot..

Well it's going to be that phonestar doesn't cater well for GB radio stations. We know that since the mib3 infotainment logo have gaps in them for the UK. It's a pet hate that on mib3 you can't update them. Since phonestar is primary a German Internet radio service they probably have a lack of interest in packaging up UK broadcasts in their wrapper. Austria will be a different kettle of fish... neighbouring Germany.

The media.info site linked to above is more use to back fill missing stuff for the UK on mib1 & 2 but you don't have that option on mib3.

I've just deleted all the logos form the phonostar, & used the ones from media.info site as more upto date, plus you just download the ones you want instead of having to download a whole Zip file of which you only need 2%!...

Just as an FYI:- the instruction book with my MIB1 states that the radio station logos can be upto 400 x 240 pixels, (no max file size stated), & in the following formats:- bmp, png, jpeg...

So I had to simply resize (downwards) the logos I got from "media.info" as most were above the 400 x 240 pixel dimensions. But its easy to do & worth it.

Needed to add to the above post that some of the BBC logos that I downloaded form the media.info site have transparent backgrounds, even though they look as if they have a white background. You will notice this when you look at the photos in windows, or when you load them onto the car!

Easiest way is to save them as a JPEG file, or open them in a photoshop & "flatten image", which then replaces the transparent background with a white background, & then resave as a png.

Well that was a commercial Audi file that people found worked in Seat's. What happened VW and Skoda stopped posting up free map updates and to be truthful people on this thread since it was created never successfully sorted out how to update the maps on Seat's with mib1 without paying a dealer until the last 12 months or so on the thread, mib2 people were a bit smarter 😉 and that was cracked very early on. See the resource of how to do it on both.

That brings us onto the question of whether you can buy or obtain mib1 maps beyond P106_N60S3MIBS2_EU_NT (8V0060866S). That would be a look at mibsolutions website for anything posted up and Ebay sellers to buy anything on SD card.

Currently nothing posted up for mib1 beyond P106

So that's a nose around ebay sellers I guess for Audi maps for mib1. 8V0060866S is an Audi part number for that map. A newer map would have an incremental part number for that map. Depends on whether there is a market to produce them.

This is the search it's got to be mib-s

Might recognise that seriel number... and be aware that there are sharks on ebay 🫢. I guess there is currently nothing newer ?.

Then either way you must follow the resource link for the workaround which fools mapcare for mib1... works for Skodas as well. That bit years ago people fumbled or they got the update in via the grace period of a new car. It was never clear till it got sorted out last year.

Some Skoda owners were unaware that they could still update the maps after the free service stopped. Seat owners were never suppose to be able to do it. A few years out of date isn't a big deal but depends whether the missing road causes you an issue. The Arona here on mib2 standard we use the old HereMaps file referenced in the resource to make Inrix traffic reports work. Works a treat. Mib1 and mib2 high with a coder you can do that. Mib2 standard small change.

It's the second link on the resource here

That links you back into the thread higher up. Follow down. It's just an edit but DON'T delete your card till after you have copied it to your hard disk. Since the 2023 file is larger than 8gb the mib1 standard, you can either trim down or buy a 16 or 32gb ebay VAG map card and use that. You need the "workaround" identified to edit in. Why you don't delete the contents of the SD card. Note the mib1 workaround is different to the mib2 one. This process only works with Seat and Skoda. Some of the VW units it doesn't work with.

Thank you sooo much, I will look at it.

Can I use any mib 2 card to update my mib 1 maps or does it have to be specific?

It should be OK. The CID on mib2 cards is fine for mib1. So yes. Europe 1 means it's a 16gb card... that's the zone Europe 1 in mib2 form. Mib1 cards are 8gb... the maps expand to need 16gb or you have to hack them. Mib2 that expanded to 32gb cards but packaged into zones.

Why I recommend keeping your existing card intact as a back up and using the 16 or 32 gb card as a new one. When you switch map cards in the units you do need to hold the on / off button for a few seconds to force a reboot else the unit holds the parameters read off the old card if the card swap is shorter than 20 minutes.

Ps note I did an edit to the post you replied to... mib1 used 8gb cards... 2023 maps in mib1 need a 16 or 32 gb mib2 card to use for the CID or you hack down the 2023 maps to fit. Getting last when I typed that.

I have tried to update maps on MIB1 and destroyed my sd card with the first step: tried to move original file from the sd card to computer and it got corrupted. Since then my nav doesn't work with that nav card,.had to buy another one...

It was probably ready to go. They don't last indefinitely. Have to watch static when handling them round the contacts.

But it works on the computer, just cant find navi file when I put it in cars media. And the file on SD card is like huge one piece which needs to be extracted somehow, when this update file is a bunch of separate files in one folder. I believe, I corrupted protection of the original nav file and then car wouldn't recognize nav file inside SD card.

Or: do you have more information about mib1 cards? They shouldn't corrupt so easily?

A couple of obvious things, did you at any stage format the card? Formatting them will cause the card not to be recognised by the navigation system (never format the card). Secondly, did you try opening/extracting the file with 7zip or similar program? You should extract the files to a folder on your computer, make the modifications to the files described earlier then copy everything to the card.

Thats the point, I didnt do anything, just tried to move files on the card to my computer. It wouldn't move at last % and then I left it as it was. After that, no more navigation.

It sounds like you chose to move rather than copy the files. It is always safer to copy the files first then delete the contents of the SD card. The only thing I can think of is to try one of the undelete apps available for SD cards. I have not tried them myself but it might work.

For the copying, I have problems with my desktop computer when reading or writing SD cards. I always use my laptop for that. Sadly not all computers work 100% with memory cards.

I will try to add screenshot of my problem soon.
