That's exactly what happened to me. It was embarrassing to have side lights that were much brighter than my main beam lol I'm on the hunt as well, apparently Phillips do a good set, bit on the expensive side compared to the one from halfords though. However from the pictures i've seen it's still a warm colour rather than the cold white/ blue that i'm after so i haven't gone for them yet. Pretty sure some one has them on this forum though and recommends them. They are on the autobulbs website, i'll try link you in a sec

Edit: this is the type not sure if they're the right fitting thought: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H7-Philips-X-treme-Power-80-bulbs-pair.html

white doesn't necessarily mean white

there are two types of white:

warm white hint of yellow

cool white hint of blue

I personally went through alot of bulbs:

u need to get a bulb which has the whole bulb covered in blue coating so it makes the light out put look cool white but personally you wouldn't see anything because the blue coating actually makes the light output crap.

I've returned bulbs before but that was because i wasn't sure if they'd fit (These were chromed out indicator bulbs, spur of the moment buy lol) so i asked they looked it up and said it'd fit no problem. Got them home and they didn't, they returned it no problem. But It's probably within 14 days or something.

I have those Philips X-treme power bulbs thingies.
They do give a strong beam and more light, but they are not white.. So you can skip those, hehe

I dont think any normal bulb will give a nice white beam, without it turning blue with crap vision (which makes it look really cheap imo) or still yellow.. If you really want white, go for a 4300k HID set.

Ive got the outside side light bulbs pink/purple and the inside ones blue, they are leds but not that bright and makes the whole headlight glow blue, merging into purple and pink on the outsides. Going to get a pic up soon. Only problem is that when you put your main beams on, your sidelights will come on too meaning you can see a bit of the blue led shining through, going to try and disable this

I've got Phillips diamond vision in mine, they match the white of my led sidelights perfectly!
There a nice pure white!
Not too keen in them though, they really are white but the distance they don't shine for is shocking, no where near the distance as the standard halogen bulbs.
Think I might be going down the hids route.
