Turbo cleaning without removing!

I was thinking of buying a revive turbo cleaning kit so had a look into it this afternoon and came across a bunch of American guys cleaning their turbos by spraying a fine mist of water into the air intake while the car was being ran at 2-3k rpm. To me this sounds risky to say the least but a lot of people say it does work!? Has anyone else come across this or tried it?

i wouldnt spray water into a cars engine while it was running as if you squirt in too much it could hydraulic
clean the turbo with mr muscle or use a double dose of forte turbo cleaner

does it apply to diesel cars? also "massive" in terms of..? might look into doing mine this summer along with EGR and mass flow sensor.

It does - Search google for "mr muscle VNT" and there's abig briskoda or audiforum (can't remember which) how to guide. People swear by the difference it makes, but bear in mind most of them have majorly coked up turbos and getting limp mode etc..

I was looking to do this on mine because I had a thought that my VNT vanes were sticking (but it actually turns out to be the EGR...) so I'll try and do both when the winter gets better.

Wouldn't a Terra clean do this?

Pricey but I thought that cleaned all sorts from carbon etc...

I am prepared to wear the :fool: hat...

Gotta do this on my mk1 FR150. Never goes into limp mode but it does overboost and loose power. Out a boost gauge on it the other day and at times it peaks off the scale past 2 bar!

Will do some research on the mr muscle jobby and give that a go.

Spraying Mr Muscle into your turbo - are you sure ??? Isn't that like asking Barry Scott to decoke a cylinder head with Cillit Bang ? (Bang! And the dirt is gone)

I've used mr muscle to remove carbon deposits on inlet manifolds and throttle bodies on Mitsubishi GDI engines before and it does work. It's only to remove carbon deposits. However we get a Fortè rep come round to work every month. I've been thinking about trying their turbo cleaner but don't know anyone that's used it...
