btw, if I were you I'd go for clutch and pressure plate if needed and leave the dmf on.

plus we don't know if these smf that are sold are effectively balanced for our engines since almost them all come from the 2.0l G60.

Well there’s the rub, if I drive round it, or should I say can I drive round it? You know what it’s like I have the power and I push it, not everywhere obviously. Devonmikey’s got a point though kind of defeats the point of having the remap done.
I guess I am a little disappointed, I kind of thought that because remapping was talked about so openly, and so often, it was all pro’s not one mention anywhere to suggest the cons.
Naivety on my part, I just thought the engine etc could take the extra torque, Basstard how much am I looking at? It would be too obvious to the stealers if I went in there and asked for an upgrade on the clutch I suppose.
Just spent £150.00 on rear lights and £19.00 on a splitter too.
I seem to be causing more problems the more I do. Damn it.

@ Stephenpalm When it comes to clutches you basically have two choices Sashs and Helix, Sashs is a bit cheaper but a bit less torque rating. My car is tuned by Allard's if you click on the link and scroll down to Ref : 74 you will see what they charge for the Helix system which i had no problems with.

You should expect to be pay about £200 for fitting which any competent garage should be able to do since the uprated clutch is the same basic design as the OEM clutch but with a higher torque rating. Best get a pressure plate and drive plate if/when you need a new clutch but unless you are going to tune your car to extreme i would stick with the DMF. If your clutch is OK at the moment then leave it alone, i would only change it if/when it starts to slip.

Are there many people out there that have had a remap done on a 150 Tdi and have found that the clutch is ok without slipping even when you push your car?

Further update: MPG definately no better with module - got 48mpg on this last tank.

AND engine management light came on yesterday so have taken the module off and booked my car in at the dealers tomorrow for looking at!

I should have took note of what i read on here and not used the cheap module!

sod the dealer, the light has probably been triggered by the excess of smoke caused by the tuning box,,, get vag com and forget the dealer,,, [or find someone near your area that has it]
