i have a 1.8t LC and find that i loose alot of traction when pulling away. you can feel the wheels spinning and the tcs light flickers at me on the dash! has anyone any suggestions on what to do. not only is it wearing down my front tyes its also frustrating if you want to get away fairly quick (if you know what i mean)

goodyear assymetricals are pretty popular tyres. also try changing your dog bone mount bushes to polymer type. my tcs is permanently turned off too :)

do u find it better with it turned off! the manual says that when the traction control is on and i quote 'it lowers the engine power to stop the wheel spinning when you accelerate'

which will often get you going quicker. gears 1+2 wont handle all the power easierly, youll go quicker squeezing the pedal gently. less is more so to speak.

im running slightly wider alloys which helps, but even then its a balancing act :)

Thats what happens when you go from 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive. Its your driving style mate, its all in the clutch control. If you turn traction control off your just sit in the same spot with your wheels spinning!

i think most who are into 1/4 mile runs would have it off:redface::rolleyes:
practice i guess.

try it and see how you get on. best advice i was given when first joining the forum was dont threat the pedal as an on/off switch, feed the power in so everything copes. smoother the better.

really depends on driving style.

mine originally had esp which is slightly different to tc , but it only seemed to reduce the power down to a tractional level rather than aggressily cutting it back.

not sure what you drove before the leon? was it 4wd?

Scooby to Leon in his sig, have seen posts similar to this before from same person.
Still not getting the 2WD thing sussed yet, lol

It does take time and as above feed thew power in gradually and you will have no problem.

To be fair the esp is better as well, sort of feathers in rather than on/off which helps. :D i used to have a revo'd LCR that was always interesting in the wet.

My TCS light used to always be flickering, i'm slowly getting used to clutch and throttle control now. I can mange to launch mine from 3000rpm dump of the clutch and keep without a hint of wheel spin (although my LC is pretty much standard). Once i've mastered launching the car, i think a remap will be done. No point in having all that power and not being able to use it.
