Towing with a LCR

Hi,

I have just bought a 210bhp LCR on Monday as a fast road car but also with the view of being able to tow with it. Upon getting home and looking through the owners manual, I found an appendix for the Cupra R which said towing was not recommended as it would cause the engine to overheat.

****! What do I do now? I need to tow with it occasionally. Its not like I will be towing a caravan, I just want to tow my Caterham to the occasional trackday.

Has anyone else tried towing with theirs and experienced any problems?

Also, I am off to Awesome GTI for a trial remap at lunch today. Any advice on which remap is best and by who, i.e. APR, Revo, AMD, Upsolute, Jabbasport etc.

Thanks
Patrick

I guess that because the car was never designed for towing (although probably more than capable) you will be invalidating your insurance if you do decide to hook up a trailer...

I'm not even sure how you could fit a tow bar without cutting into the bumper!?

IIRC, there have been several people on here with LCRs that have used them for towing a caravan....Getting the Revo will give you plenty more torque to get going :)
