absolutely no room in front/under/behind seats, stereo is specific to dash ie DIN will not fit so can't change that. cd changer takes up all room in boot, yes seriously it's that small!
sub is screwed onto plastic posts not to flush panel so don't think 5'' will fit
thanks for help just need to keep looking

the one i have is perishing, the flexi bit between cone & frame, glued with hot glue gun @ moment,so will need to replace soon.mind it is 16yrs old!
can't physically fit bigger sub, restricted by width, depth of plastic panel, thats why thought of home audio, prob get smaller ones in home stereos.
whats diff between 4 & 8 ohm res. speakers will either work on car audio?

the ohm rating is the drive units impedance, this is the total oposition to current. basically an amplifier's output is simply a calculation of its current draw and input voltage using ohms law. basically, an amp that delivers 50w into 4 ohms will deliver 25w into 8 ohms. in other words, as the impedance doubles, the power needed halves. so an 8 ohm speaker will work in a system designed for 4 ohms. (most home audio drive units are 8 ohms)
