Hi,

Does anyone know what the top speed is on a SEAT 2.0 S as i managed to get 120mph at 5,100 revs but it seemed to just be stuck there. It seemed it was limited in some way. Any tips on how to take it into the 130s?

2.0 16v??
Would have thought cold air induction kit, exhaust, not sure about remaps, could probably be done though!

check out the remap people on the forum.

The 2.0 N/A engine is a very rare engine within Seat. For tuning options you might be better looking for the 2.0 GTI MK4 Golf that was out around the same time :p

Think its around 115bhp your as std. But with it being N/A you wont get huge gains from a remap, i'd say (only guessing tbh) with a remap, induction kit, zorst your looking around 130/140bhp?

I have increased performance on my TDi from 130bhp to near 190bhp and noticed very little difference top end. But as mentioned, who cares about top end that much as its not worth doing them speeds on public highways anyway. All I know is my 0-70mph has greatly improved :p

What colour is the 2.0 btw? Piccies!!

my top speed in my cupra is standard 142mph and with the remap and few other bits cnt get much more! as said above its more for acceleration aspects! which has really improved 0-60 up to 1-2second improvement!!!! should get about 12bhp from a remap on your car

Thanks,

See your point about top end, 120 is fast enough I suppose for now! Any ideas on increasing my 0-60 performance. Looked into re-map for 2.0 and it costs 400 quid for a 10bhp increase. I will have to think about that one! My low down grunt is good in the Sport but I have been driving a 1.8 Vectra around for 2 years so it doesn't compare. Any tips on filters/induction kits/exhaust for the 2.0 S what works/what doesn't?

Pics coming soon

you will prob get better help in the leon section but here goes

2.0 8v 115 hp

2.0 16v 150hp

if its a 16v it will say in the top of the engine when you open the bonnet

BTW both cars are prob only good for approx 120mph but the 16v one will get there quicker

Nope. The 2.0 8V engine fitted to the MkIV Ibiza is 115 bhp, according to the technical specs in the MkIV manual.

Seems to be a common mistake, I always thought/knew it was 115bhp as the GOLF GTI is the same spec (I believe) but everyone I ever mention it to says 125bhp!?

TBH, tuning a N/A 2.0 wont be worth much, lets of money spent and very little gains...

Unless you look at turbocharging it, but I dont think there is enough room the enginebay for anything too big.

Thanks again guys,

So it seems the only tuning worth doing is re-mapping at a cost of 400+ quid to gain 10-15bhp at the most! The turbo option is interesting but at what cost financially/bhp/enginewear? Has it ever been done :)

Speaking from 2 years experience running a 2.0 8V, I think the weight, size and age of that engine doesn't do it any favours when it comes to performance.
