Wouldn't have thought so, otherwise it would put out 160ps/329nm.

For 28 quid I'm willing to give it a shot.

I swore blind I'd not mess with this car, but have ordered an Mp3 hard drive for the boot, got a chip lined up, and am thinking I'll go with the intake mod and an intercooler spray. That's just for starters! Already sizing up brake options for the puny 10p pieces hidden behind the wheels... :)

I'm must be off me fookn 'ead :( not even got the car yet!

I guess it depends what you consider performance mods...

eg:
on a PD130 without a FMIC, in the summer, especially with a remap, your car will heatsoak like a mofo...with a FMIC it'll be consistently good 365 days a year.
PD150 and PD160 have adaquete FMIC as standard.

Therefore I'd consider an good IC as one of my top 5 performance mods. (OE PD150 or PD160 ICs worth getting)

Secondly, if you can't go round corners quickly, there is little point having lots of power, as we're not in america.

So a set of coilovers (£525 for KW Variant 1s or £575 for V2...) would be factored in.

Thirdly, if you can't stop, then you're likely going to die...Ibiza Cupra PD160 has AP Racing 4port calipers with 312mm disks...Leon Cupra PD150, Leon PD130, Ibiza FR PD130 all have 288mm disks with singlepot calipers....they need at a minimum an upgrade to the 312mm disks and calipers from a Leon Cupra 1.8T, or ideally Brembos or AP.

Fourthly; Now your car is cool running, can stop well and go round corners, I'd look at a remap...revo have dealers nationwide, which is great for lazy people, and their code is smooth, and gives good results.

Fifthly; improve the breathing of the engine. This is split into two... (1) intake (panel filter usually enough for a TDi) (2) exhaust (milltek with race cat the way to go.)

The above will give you pretty much where my car is now (FMIC, Revo, Milltek, KW V2, Brembos, dynatwist)....

beyond that ... there are bigger/hybrid turbo conversions available, and bigger injectors, but economy of the car will go down a fair bit after such work, and the potential for increased lag from the turbo may put some off.

or you could go the JBS recommended path and get their NOS conversion, which gives good results.

You'll want that SACHS uprated clutch though!

Is that 195Jbhp

I'd like to see it on a reliable dyno, back to back with the same car with / without the intake

What do you mean by "J" bhp?

Perhaps Hellfire himself could chime in if he's reading, but IIRC its basically what the guy at Jabba told him - I think he said it enabled him to turn the wick up whilst keeping the dreaded smoking / soot problem at bay.

Fair enough, but that is a very, very expensive upgrade, and it still does you no good if your stuck in a traffic jam.

A good set of tyres has to be one of the best mods to any car- not sure which are best on an Ibiza 130? maybe this is not considered a performance mod but it certainly improves performance more than some mods IMO.
I think a FMIC is a really good mod, anything over about 18c you will lose power on the OE
Suspension & strut brace- has to be done, but do the coilovers still give good ride quality?
Now the car will have much better traction, Cupra intake, miltek exhaust, Jabba remap, and of course the clutch.
And what about manifolds? don't Allard do uprated ones for the 130s? All these things to get and I haven't even bought the thing yet! LOL :roflmao:

In that case, yeah I'm fairly certain it will be Jabba's figures... why? Are they known to have an "ambitious" rolling road?

I'm no expert on RR's - but I'm yet to see a car get the same figures (or within 7% or so) on another roller

Supercooled intercooler & short low loaded runs create flash figures.

I agree.
We run high load in Portugal, so our dyno number are usually 10-15% less than what you get in the UK. But as Mark mentions you never get the same figure twice..

Its very true every part of the car needs to be looked at when you've done more than a re-map , bushes, roll bars, engine mounts, strut braces, short shifts, coil overs,
bigger brakes, all have an important part to play when your throwing more fuel in the boiler , all these mods aside :

1) re-map
2) injectors/nozzles
3) turbo/manifold if needed
3.5) inlet-manifold
4) intercooler
5) larger down pipe/and exhaust.......the less restriction down wind of the turbo the better to help the turbine with back pressure.
6) methanol
7) N02
8) which brings us back to the beginning if you've done the mod number 2) you will need a remap and any other mods from 2) it would be better with a live map
for the best results. (MOTORSPORT DEVELOPMENTS blackpool) ...like my green mk3 golf if you ask me

Just wanted to know what people think are the top 5 mods to enhance the performance of your tdi's. Take into account bhp/torque increase per £

Take it number 1 is a remap ??

Sorry to say this but if you r planning on going BIG then remapping is the last thing to do!!!

it's like a mise au point!!!

Yea I get the fact that you wil need to Re-Map your car last of all to take into account all your previous mods - but i'm not going mad with this one - few styling mods, CAI & Remap is all i'm after :)

160 intake PSSSSSHHHHHHHH

Some may doubt the power increase from a cone filter, as I did, but with the intake pipes I stuck on my audi onto a cone (rated to 400hp) it created a 'ram air' effect I think - anyway, the faster I went, the harder the car pulled. Only problem I found was when cold car pumped a lot of white smoke out, but that disappeared when warmed up, otherwise no adverse effects. Shield it properly (I used tin foil! Don't laugh, it works! Ok you can laugh :) ) and feed it with a couple of air feed pipes and I reckon you'll get the power increases claimed. On the RR my boost peaked at 1.8 bar@345hp/406lb ft, on the street I was seeing 2 bar. With the stock airbox on it seemed strangled, and intake temps were higher.

Oh yeah, you get the 'PSSSSSHHHHHHHH' sound when changing gear too :)

Yeah, that's weird. I have an Ibiza Cupra TDI 160 and sealed up the intake (all the way from the funnel in the front grille to the airbox) in a similar way to what you did using a combination of silicone sealant and duct tape, so that now air could escape once it had entered. Straight away I noticed the PSSSSSHHHHHHHH sound when I come off the gas to change gear. I thought it meant I had a leak somewhere else...
