If you can't afford to get it done just get a belt fitted, fire it up and see what happens. You've got a VERY VERY slight chance that you could get away with it.

I did in my Fiat Uno Turbo, snapped it at 100mph and sat turning it over for an hour before realising the belt had broken. New belt, started 1st time and ran fine for another 2 years before I sold it.

I WANNA DO IT!! but I have no money and I cut my credit card up damn thing goes to 3k 2!!

just had mine done, belt and water pump cost 90 quid from GSF (trafford park) and paid 90 quid to get them fitted at a local garage i use.

£90 :) Did you see how much the tensioner was? and did you get a metal impellor? (is that the name of it?)

90 for the pump and belt alone?? big windows fella!
Even the belt kit and pump should be less than that.
50 quid for the belt kit inc tensioners and 21 for the pump (all gsf ones are metal)

i just went in and told them i wanted a cam belt kit which includes tensioners. and a water pump ( yes it was metal) it all came to £90 quid including vat.
