Sounds like a gamble to me...

and that statement sums it up, cheap product and a company who cannot back its durability or quality, and the price clearly reflects that

Jamie (as in the thread about cheap tips) has a passionate hate for 'cheap' products doesnt he:rolleyes:

For god sake, its a very simple shape manifold that is cast, it is not an equal length, stainless, custom tig welded design, yes it MAY crack in use - but if the material used is sound then there is no reason why it would at all.

It looks like a nice chunky (if heavy) manifold and may well do you proud - you can but try.

Ever thought its cheap because they bang them out in the thousands?

Just needs someone to try it and see if it is junk or not.

no Rik, not at all, I am all for buying cheap modifications

however (and I like to think) what I do offer is good sound advice (from experience), and having run a stg3 setup on my previous Ibiza, and having gone down the fatal route of fitting cheap rubbish to my car, I learnt my lesson the hard way

buy cheap, buy twice and this is always the way

sure, that manifold might be ok on a standard map, but once you start running 200bhp+ I would like to see how long it's going to last

some things are too good to be true, and you always have to ask yourself, that why are loads of other companies who sell quality manifolds that are of a high quality not selling for this price?

because £150 for a manifold just spells out it wont be of a partucularly good quality

sure I will withdraw my comments if it is, but experience over the years of running turbo cars tells me, that if its cheap for what that product is, then avoid it, because most likely you will be sitting at the side of a road, broken down and wishing you had invested that couple of extra hundred quid more and saved you the bother

Apprently the kinetic one has had nothing but good write ups on the VWvortex site, and that ones less than £150 with the exchange rate at the moment.

I dont have money to burn, but £150 is hardly the end of the world when i think how much i have spent on the car already. It would get on my tits more that i would have to get the manni off again as its supposed to be a right ****!

As i said previous im more interested in the kinetic high flow mani.

I have one and my mechanic mate has still got my car on his ramps for the third night while the standard manifold arrives from VAG.
the shape of the manifold means there is no access to the centre nuts as they do not fit in the indentations set in the casting....[:@]:censored:[:@]
I have tried e-mailing this morning and this afternoon to try and get to the bottom of this problem with surpprise surprise no response.
I am not going to make as bold a statement as do not use these for this item but.......................................:ban:

I`ve been chatting to the guy from kinetic and if the THS are along the same lines as the kinetic you should see a nice torque increase.

Mines been shipped and on its way as we speak :D
