Throttle body modification

It's worse with the modified TB, new gasket yes, hoses ok. When I do a TB alignment in VAG-COM it shown two angles, usually around 14% and 82%, the test always comes up ok, no errors. It idles and runs better on the old TB but still dies and misfires on mid-throttle.

2 fault codes were manifold/boost signal too high and implausible signal as well.

It's crazy as it drove normal - didn't use the car for a couple of weeks, stuck the new TB on and now it doesn't run, even with the old TB as well, never touched anything while it was off the road!

Disturbed the MAP sensor/wires?

Have you tried logging boost to see if you get a reading of some sort, Rob?

Broken wire to MAP sensor?

Hmmm, they're fairly robust. I have a spare one that I beleive to be working - you can have it for postage.

PM me your address.

for 1st time seen this pedal come up with fault only last week on an lcr. implausable signal error. replace and its not reoccured. did'nt misfire tho, just drove really slow like limp

I found the test for the pedal, block 062, has 4 different percentages which all change as you push the pedal up and down. No idea what I'm looking at though - what should be normal?

Never saw anything that said 0 or 100% though?

I'm getting the implausible signal fault too Bill. Do you know the part number for the module that needs replacing?

not sure if LC is same as LCR pedal..
one of the earlier blocks 002,003 etc have the 0-100% bit.. you could do with someone on pedal opening and another looking at the throttle actually opening to confirm 100% is actually open and no stuttering along the way.

Will check that out then. Reason I'm more convinced it's the pedal electrics is because when I removed the Sprintbooster module the problem was far less. If the module is amplifying the pedal signals then perhaps that's why it seems much worse?

Has the Sprintbooster damaged the pedal electronics?

Not that I've got one, but I'd doubt it. It just seems strange that the problem started when you removed your TB, Rob - it would be a huge coincidence if your pedal started playing up at the same time.

I'd see what sort of reading you get on vag-com for boost.

On other thing that occurred to me, is there something odd about the way your cold side DV has been reconnected, pehaps?

Cold side has been connected that way for some time now and been fine. Car won't boost on mid throttle, it dies like there is zero from the pedal.

Seems a huge coincidence yes, but I've tried 2 different TB's, different coilpacks, unplugging the MAF, changing vacuum lines, etc. and the problem remains. The only way the problem is reduced is by removing the sprintbooster module, so it has to be the pedal right?
