Hello everyone,
I currently own a 2011 Octavia with 1.2 TSI 105 HP, and also have got a Civic 1.4 83 hp which we are not so happy with, with tough acceleration and poor engine performance.
Trying to get rid of Civic and planning to buy a Leon for the wife, however, I have concerns mostly with DPF.
My brother in law owns a Leon 1.9 TDI 2010 with 60.000 miles on the clock, also chasing some 1.6 TDI ones with low mileage. I was reading about a lot of failure stories with DPF (and I own 1.2 TSI which is famous for chain issues) I would like to get some idea, what are the advantages and disadvantages of 1.6 and 1.9 turbodiesels? What should i look out for? Any comments would be appreciated!
The wife will be using Leon mostly with short journeys, like 5-10 miles and once-twice a month she may drive out of town like 100 miles.
I try to avoid TSI s because of the chain problem that I am scared of but I also do not want to add another with TDI, want to be sure that I am choosing a good engine.
