When refitting the rod/clip I would suggest using some high temperature paste/anti seize - as they can seize solid, common on the 1.4's to seize and stop the waste gate working.
Maybe they made the later version looser - so less chance of it seizing - at the expense of more chance of it rattling
You don't need to replace the clip. The high temperature grease is enough to stop the rattle and stop it from seizing. My son has a 2017 Ibiza which suffered a seized rod, I'm guessing four years ago. I worked some grease into the ends of the linkage and it's been fine ever since.

My car is a 1.4 tsi. Not had a seizure but the linkage did rattle. The grease stopped the rattle and it hasn't returned. Again, that was four or five years ago. I intend to add more grease once a year but I've forgotten about it and never done it.

You don't need to remove the clip or even be looking at it. Just put a rubber glove in and work some grease into the linkage with your fingers. Too much won't do any harm. You want the correct Loctight grease and it's expensive but totally worth it as the problem is solved.

Hi is there a way you can show how you have installed this? Also how long have you had the clips in? Iv heard in a lot of forums that they tend to fall off very easily. The sound is driving me crazy. Can hear it whilst travelling at low rpm
I’ll try and post a pic, had them installed for a week now and they’ve not moved at all, maybe others have used a different clip hence why they’ve fell off. The ones i got still allow free movement of the rod but just take up the slack enough to stop the rattle. I was also wondering about them falling off but after a week they’re still in place
