Something that caught me out when I changed the boot light by uprating from the LED I had previously fitted - I removed the unit to do the change indoors and left the boot open. There must be a time switch on the supply because when I returned and refitted the item it would not light, nor would replacing the original lamp or the first LED. Only by shutting the boot and then re-opening it did the power supply return.

Known feature on VAG cars. BCM is being put to sleep - all of the internal lights are switched off if ignition is off.

guys unfortunately, i can't open the front Map lights and the fear courtesy lights...
could someone to make a post with photos and step by step the process for the above lights???

A trim removal kit is what you need. Then work a centimetre in from each corner and they pop off.

Front map lights work from the end closer to the windscreen, the rears I worked from the side.

There is nothing wrong with using a screwdriver as long as you are careful. If you're worried that much wrap some electrical tape around it. Trim removal kits are over priced and unnecessary unless you are planning on doing work on other people's cars who may be more finicky.

None of the lights are difficult to remove. Just take your time and if in doubt have a proper look at the lights before attempting to remove them.

I don't think there was any way even the smallest screw driver would get away without marking some of the headliner fittings even in a small way.

I got the below kit for €22 in my local motor factors which works out at £18, there was a cheaper kit but this one should cover any uses I'll ever have. For the sake of not taking a chance I think they are a good investment.

I managed it fine and I in no way pretend to be a model example of a practical person.

There is also absoloutely no need to remove the entire light units (with exceptions of boot, footwell, glovebox and visors) as it is much easier to remove the lenses. Also with the rear roof light it is held to the headlining by a plastic bezel glued on the back of the lining. I can tell you from past cars, this glue is far from great and often the bond is broken by removing the light unit.

Obviously this is all down to personal opinion, choice and personal experience. But I wouldn't pay £18 for a pack of glorified tyre levers. But as said, this is my personal view.

Anyone have some pictures of the finished article inside? I am particularly interested in the footwell lighting and whether it is too bright with LED's when driving in the dark?

Personally I keep my footwells turned off whilst driving. Don't want anything mr/ms officer or insurance can use against me.

You don't want to look directly at the light units out it that way.

That looks bright Toro, I gave up on boot bulbs in the end having tried several, a complete light unit I ordered was a tad too big, Ali seller wouldnt refund so I threw the towel in. Why SEAT use the same light unit for both the glovebox and the boot with hugely differing areas to illuminate beats me.

I have used the same 9's as Toro and the boot lights up just fine now

hi andy i too used the 9led bulb as toro used and yes its fine as i used the same as you but did not think it was bright enough but really pleased with the 9 ones i am sure i sent you a post a little while back
