Heres the problem, for about 3 weeks now my car has been making a strange creaking noise coming form the front passenger side wheel area. When I first looked and heard the noise I thought ARB had gone, when I looked at it the noise seemed to be coming from the drop link where it attaches to the shock.

Then today where I was coming into work the clunk noise started which I thought there goes the ARB for definate now as Ive had the "clunk" happen on both my ibizas now, but I went home for some lunch and thought I check to see if I could see anything wrong but everything looks to be OK bushes and droplink wise apart from the creaking noise which happens mainly when turning left but not all the time.

Just for reference the car has the Sachs Performance Suspension Kit and has done 14K with the ARB, Droplinks and bushings being replaced at about 10K.

The car has 1 1/2warranty left but they prob wont cover t because of the suspension. The Sach Kit is a very hard ride also, sould this be the problem?

Anyone get any ideas to help me pin point the problem?

Thanks
Kyle

Kyle just to say that I had new drop links, ARB and bushes under warranty. After 7K miles there was play on the bushes again causing knocking noises on lock.

Mine clunks over speed bumps and on very bumpy roads - could it be a loose top mount - I have Koni sport kit fitted to mine? Mine has done 29k, 2.5 years old - no bushes replaced yet?

Cheers.

All the symptoms point to either the ARB bushes, droplinks or maybe top mounts. I'd get it to the dealer if its that age and let them change things.

does any of you have fk konigsport coilovers. i have them on now for a good 4 month or so but i still cant get a good setup up going. Every bump is like hard and bouncy i have played with the damper setting. Only thing left is to raise it up i have it above the arch. car is slightly higher than pic you can get your fingers in. any suggestion.if you can imagine hitting potholes thats the kind of sound i hear goin over minor bumps. its really pissin me off

Diablo... Have you got an overall shot of your car lowered?

Mines lowered on coilies, was about 45mm at front and 60 at back, although ive had to raise the front due to mashing my front arches on pot holes, due to 215/40/17 tyres on 7.5" wide wheels,

Now ive raised the fronts just under 10mm and had new Wishbone bushes at the front, the ride is alot less crashy and more comfortable/stable ...

Maybe your bushes are fooked?

yup. mine was doing the same, just slice the edge of with a stanley knife blade, my wishbone bushes were "worn" at 35000, my tyres last around 10k, thats going from front to back and side to side...

have u checked to see if driveshaft(s) are rubbing on the arb? For lowering on my leon a 35mm drop required me to get a new ARB with bigger hoops at either end...

OK had the wheel off tonight and had a look to see if I could see anything that looked "wrong". Nothing was knocking or hitting each other, no marks on any thing. While the car was in the air I moved the wheel from left to right but I couldnt hear anything.

Anyway give up looking and put the wheel back on, get someone to move the steering wheel left to right while I listened to where the noise was coming from. Its coming from up near the top of the spring I think... so I looked under the cap that cover the top of the shock bolt to find the shock isnt sitting in the middle of this

After a quick phone call to stephen(stoney) he said that shouldn't be like that and its more than likely the top mount. Great, whole suspension out.

Here are some pics

Anyone else think anything different??
