Strut Brace

Hi folks

I fitted my strut brace yesterday but when i went to tighten bolts back up on tops of struts on of them jumped and just started spinning and wouldn't tighten!!

I managed to drill it out and get another nut and bolt in (slightly longer) and tightened but theres a hell of a squeaking noise when i turn the steering wheel
anyone any ideas?

Top mounts are probably abit loose now,

i got them as tight as possible mate, they were fine this morning it just started squeaking on the one side that the new bolt is in! i checked it tonight and its still super tight. I think the bottom of the bolt is actually touching the spring but i didnt think that would cause the squeak.


how much for a new top mount if the worst comes to the worst?

about 8 quid, you may be right about the longer bolt though,
sorry for short response, im in the middle of something else aswell,

i got a new top mount today for £10 an i'll try and fit it tomorrow. The squeaking is getting worse. I'll need to pick up a new bolt tomorrow anyone any idea what size they are?

Why not just cut the bolt down a bit mate

I was gonna mate but im a fussy bugger and it would bug me so i got my mate to get me a new top mount

I'm getting parts anyway for cost so it's not too bad

I just wish i could get a remap at cost lol, still shouldn't be long now

cars finally starting to feel like it's mine
