I have a mk2 LCR, I've had it remapped but I hate the map, I loved it at first but I've grown tired of it all, I'm stuck whether to go APR or REVO, but.. Please don't say start a argument just complete the necessary below...

Engine:
Tuner:
After map figures: Bhp. Lbs/ft.
Feedback:

**the reason I started this is just because I went in a mapped cupra by R-Tec and it had a awesome power delivery and pulled so well with minimal fuss, producing slightly less on the Dano but still beating me.**

It's proven, bhp numbers can just be pub talk if you can't put the power down.

To make a start...

Engine: 2.0 - 265ps
Tuner: AMD Remap
After map figures: 317bhp. 340lbs/ft
Feedback: I wouldn't recommend this map, it's a basic file loaded onto the car, it's extremely aggressive starting at low revs and start to drop off around 4krpm, I personally think the map was built to show the owner and make a thrill ride with lots of wheel spin & fun... Until a few weeks pass then it's extremely hard to stop the car spinning as the turbo kicks extremely hard. All fun no power to the floor.

The numbers and model are in my signature.
Feedback: very very happy with my R-tech map as are many others. I believe Niki now does switchable option which APR do without the need for SPS as in Revo but won't adapt like the two aforementioned. However, custom map and far cheaper if you're only going to tune once.

2.0 - 240ps
Rtech stage one
307bhp 320ft/lbs.
Has a nice smooth power delivery that doesn't seem to drop off, i get a nice little kick a 5-5.2k that pulls right upto the hardcut limiter. More than happy with the map, recommend r-tech to anyone who isn't a "figure hunter" lol

No dyno run.

A very easy map to live with. Happily pootles around doing daily driver stuff with no battling against the power. You can distinguish quite easily when you are entering the territory where it wants to go.
When you do give it some, the difference feels like night and day compared to stock. It pulls relentlessly to the limiter, brings the intake to life and makes objects get very small in the rear view mirror very quickly!
Putting the power down in anything but dry conditions is a problem, wheel spin in 4th can happen but I my Potenzas wont be helping that.

Having the choice of 4 maps is cool. Stock, a map that supports regular unleaded if you get stuck and valet mode are handy to have.

Going back to stock now and then, feels like the tubo has been turned off.

I was cautious going for a generic map, but APR seem to be very well regarded for a smoother map than Revo, plus their software upgrades from Stage 1 upwards are free.
Would have definitely considered R tech if I was closer, but APR installed by a VAG specialist seems a good safe bet and is accessible from many places.
Their summer sale was what sealed the deal!

Engine:2.0 Tfsi FR
Tuner:Etuners Stage 1
After map figures: 265Hp/350 NM
Feedback: Very good all around map, everything works smoothly, but the only thing that worries me is the high boost that turbo produces. (peaks about 1.4 bar)
This is basically everything you can get out of stock parts software.

Engine: 2.0 265bhp
Tuner: APR Stage 1 V3.4 (map loaded at Awesome GTI)
After map figures: 334bhp/351ft/lbs. Proven with a dyno run immediately after the map (only upgrade was a Revo ceramic intake)

Feedback : Happy with all aspects of the map, everything felt just like the stock map, the car drove exactly the same but just with a lot more urgency when you buried the loud pedal, no big spikes, just a nice wall of power, plus the hard cut limiter is fun ;)

The added functionality of being able to switch between modes easily via the cruise control stalk is a nice touch, also offers piece of mind as you can leave the car with a garage for instance knowing they are hoofing your car about because you can put it in valet mode.

I never actually got round to taking advantage of this part but the free upgrades were a really big point for me too.

Only slight downside was the anti-theft feature isn't available for the LCR (not enough memory I believe to allow it to be loaded) but all in all it's a minor gripe, given the opportunity again I wouldn't hesitate to pick APR.

Pre-FL Cupra
P-torque Stage 1
327 bhp, 320 lbs/ft
Supporting mods: Neuspeed P-flow intake, BCS full turbo back with 200 cell cat

Applied the power smoothly, not too aggressive. Pulled all the way to redline, and was reaching ~115 mph in the dry on the relatively short straights at Oulton Park. Did have a big torque peak at around 3500 rpm though which in the end wasn't too kind on the clutch.

completly standard other than map.

Comes on power from 2.5k revs and doesnt stop till the red line (feels like it pulls harder from 4k onwards). Still average 30mpg. Havent had it on a Dyno.
Even on 95ron map, doesnt feel that much slower than 98ron map.

Any idea how a stage 1 will affect MPG?
My 2.0tfsi stage1 revo did approximately 36ish mpg in the motorway at 70mph which is good. My stage2+ does abit more around 38. But each car is different and there are a lot of factors like tyre pressures etc etc

Really useful mate cheers. It’s a 2007 2.0TFSI and Revo stage 1 is exactly what I’m looking at. I did 37mpg on the motorway driving it back home doing between 60-70mph. How does the Revo stage 1 feel compared to stock? Did you suffer from clutch slip?

After the stage1 it was a different car to drive so much more torque in any gear and a lot more responsive. I didn’t get clutch slip at all at stage1 and I did about 15k of hard use. I honestly think with the stage1 the Leon is the car it should of been from factory.

That's class, got me very excited. I know what I'm saving up for ahah. How much was the full Revo Stage 1? Says POA online

I can’t remember exactly think it was around £450 ish. I don’t know if the prices are the same as this was at the start of covid I had that done.

No idea where mine was done, as it was done a few owners before me and had no paperwork. However, after testing a quarter-mile with my mate's 07' S3 (265bhp factory) we were neck & neck most of the way. He had me on accelartion due to its Haldex putting him in front while I'm breaking traction for a bit. He had no idea whether his S3 had been mapped. after this we were certain his had been, both went to Surrey Rolling Road to find out, and below are the results of mine.

We both guessed around the 300bhp mark which both our cars turned out to be. Although I have no idea where it was done, I can rest assured knowing it's at least a decent map. It tends to break traction in first gear and sometimes a little (depending on road conditions of course) in second which can be annoying, but it kicks in hard at 4k and wants you to rev it right out and just carries you through the next gear and the next. Feels amazing, would recommend that power, seems a lot of us are happy with it. Even with Pilot supersport 4's it still tends to break traction, I don't really care though because I don't care about 0-60's, I just want it to be fun around those B roads and with those tyres it sticks like glue around the corners.
