Theres nothing wrong with Denso, they are a very big company in Japan since the 50's supplying parts for many race series' over there. Loads of big power Jap cars use Denso plugs over here.

I think you seem to be missing the point here. The point is that Denso do NOT list any plugs on THEIR website for the LC/LCR - and that is my question.

I am not saying they are crap - in fact the opposite - i'm trying to find out WHY people rave about them when they are not in fact listed for our car!?!

I'm gonna stick with the NGK's..... thanks for the tip guys :)

And yes - i ask LOTS of questions - i am still a total N00b here, and look up to the likes of brendy, pete, m0rk and the like, as THEY are the ones that know these cars inside out, or at least have a LOT more experience than me! Just cos I've done the guides don't mean jack :S

They should be fine funkyfin, I cant see audi making a few variants of the same head sharing everything but spark plugs.
For the record, I fitted iridium plugs to my motor not for performance increases (read: pie in the sky) but just so that I knew if anything wasnt just right then I had one less thing to worry about and the car seems very happy to run with them with no issues.

Sorry my fault I should have quoted the post I was reading when I posted:

NGK all the way, it's just not worth the risk using anyother make. VAG use them for a reason, and they work well and last 40k on a mapped car.

I wonder why the codes aren't mentioned on their website, seems odd?

As a side note, are the plugs fitted as standard in the LCR different to those in the LC? If so I guess I'll use them if I have a remap done.

What noticable negetive effects are there on a re-mapped car using standard temperature plugs or alternatively what gains have people experienced in the way the car drives by putting cooler plugs in?

I've read plenty about IK22s being really good, and understand the theory behind using plugs with the correct temperature range to suit the state of tune, but this all assumes that the standard spec plugs are too hot for a re-mapped car, is this definately the case?

The reason I ask is my std plugs are 10k miles old, and since fitting them, it has been re-mapped. Money for me is tight at the moment, but if I were to see an improvement from going for cooler plugs I would buy some, but I don't want to replace perfectly good plugs for no gain.
