They have a lot of common problems all of which you will find on here through search.
That said, If you test drive it and it seems ok and no fault codes showing then it'll probably be ok. Make sure waterpump and cambelt have been replaced if mileage 60k+.

Bear in mind that there is a new 'plastic' type of water pump. I've got the newer style fitted. Though if its those window lickers from westec they probably didn't change anything.

Done a quick setup of the avcr this morning on the way into work. Disabled all the gear judge stuff since I can't set that up yet (broken g/box still!). Meeting and holding 18psi for a loooooong time.

whats the crack with these AVCRs then matt? i dont understand how an external device can control the N75 valve (and hence the boost) and the ECU be happy about it, plus whats wrong with ur gearbox?

The n75 is no longer in control. The avcr has its own boost sensor and n75 equivalent.

N75 is just dangling in mid air at the mo.

Providing the boost doesn't deviate outside the expected boost by much then the ecu should be fine.

what does the boost sensor plumb into or is it an all in one sort of device that combines there N75 equivalent?

surely though the boost will deviate if its holding 18psi for almost the redline though?

Think about what the vagcom logs show.... ie the car asks for 18 psi, intially it spikes to like 24 pis and then tails off to 11psi. So the actual sits either side of the requested line when plotted on a graph. Its that tolerance that allows the avcr to work without throwing the ecu into limp mode.

The avcr has its own seperate map sensor and solenoid (n75).

Im just using the acvr as a very simple boost controller at the mo, it can control boost via rpm points and gear judge. Very clever bit of kit.

Box is still missing 3rd and 1/2 of 4th lol

It is a niece piece of kit fair play from what i've seen just super complicated. lol.

Its basically a new N75 dave. I'm interested to see what the +/ve and -/ve deviation is on stage 2, good thing is there doesnt seem to be any figure on the +/ve side as map sensor is maxed out at 2550, and i know i've spiked to 25psi at least when it was on the rollers at Powerstation, but that was a spike early on, i wonder how long you can run above the requested for.

I'd love to see what 85%+ WG duty is like on a k03s throughout the rev range as i get 50% WG duty high up the rev range and about 70% at redline.

Phil did your Spec clutch come with all the required bolts? I've ordered one today with the lightened flywheel and just wondered if i need to order the bolts seperately?
