I think I would want to know everything is pukka before I go for a jbso4

also your cat is getting a battering with some oil contamination and that is not good at all

they agreed with that they think it could be condesation its weird cos sometimes its quite bad then other times its ok if it was the seals i just thought it would look like bomfire night behind me

old exhaust wold be a pain as i didnt want to drop axle to take standard system out so cut off at backbox section and would need to buy a joiner to be able to get that back on can see where your coming from with the bigger turbo would have thought the company i get to fit the new turbo would give the whole car the once over

well obviously something is wrong then. Why havent you taken it to a dealer or someone who can fix it rather than guess what is wrong with it !

Madness you know it is smoking abnormally but still continue to drive it
dont you think you should get it looked at asap instead of causing possible engine/turbo failure????????????????????????????????????????????

dose it still smoke on idle after you've given it a good pasting? I mean when any condensation would have boiled off?:)

sometimes yes and sometimes no this is the only point making me belive it could be turbo problems would bypassing the n249 valve or enlarging the air intake at front with pannel filter cause this as water could be getting through the induction  (jut thinking of anything now :D )

really strange that, i can't see it being the turbo, if it has a constant feed of oil it would be smoking all the time?? and there would surley be some eratic performance? Real strnge one.

mate if its condensation then put some clear Perspex near the exhaust and it will show up as steam. But i am positive it is not condensation, there is no real deifference in layout between the Milltek and the Standard exhaust.

Take it to the dealership and they will either say yes or no, if they refuse to look due non standard exhaust then simply swap and take t to another dealer. But in my experience they will not say a thing. r why not take it to an independent.

You really need someone with a bit of experience in 1.8T's to have a look, instead of letting us lot who are basically blind make guesses for you. You should get it changed under warranty if you can as when you sell the car on i assume you will reverting back to standard even if you do fit a JBS 04 turbo, yes??

thats it! specially in the morning i get quite large puffs of smoke coming from exhaust but as you say when moving its fine when revving when stationary it starts off smoking then clears  im so confused dont know if im over reacting or being rightly worried! wanna get this turbo but not if im not certain the rest of the car isnt ok dont wanna blow it up!

the reason you have noticed it more is prob that tghe exhaust is lrger and less restrictive so more steam as such is coming out if its like it in the morning go and smell it should be a nice sweet smell on the cold start if running shell v power if its oil it will stink and prob hurt your eyes

well after all this worry, it could be just steam then

at this time of year when the air is damp a lot of engines produce steam on cold start, especially forced induction and large cc ones

it is to do with the hot gas and cold zorst, your new zorst may well conduct heat differently

water is a by product of compressing the air that wee breath, thats why air compressors have a water trap

most petrol cars have a 10 to 1 compression ratio (ish)

my petrol fr is quite steamy I must say but you were saying smoke so I
thought you knew the difference between smoke and steam

hope that helps put your mind at rest chap

failing that bring it to my place in Southampton and I'll confirm weather it is smoke or steam for ya
