smoking!

my car is smoking like a biach!!!!!!!! only happened sinse i put on the milltek downpipe sports cat and cat back exhaust system(nothing but trouble may i add!!!) just wanted confirmation thats the reason why! its white smoke coolant is fine havent been assed to check the oil yet


any1 else got the same with their 1.8 20v t with exhaust

maybe you will be changing your turbo sooner than you thought

IMHO if it was the zorst it would have burnt off in a day or two

I did read about a 20vt that was white smoking on scc a while ago and it was a turbo related problem, a blockage of some sort but I can't remember

Erm strange, may be worth just resetting the ecu for a while. shouldnt have any probs though.

reset the ecu cnt see tht making any diffrence have made alot of changes to the car over the last month or so maybe the jbs04 turbo is on the shopping list alot earlier than exspected

Disconnecting battery for 30 mins resets ecu

somthing to do with oil flow to the turbo

oil going in ok, blockage stops oil exiting and blows past the oil seals and makes smoke out of zorst



is it on tickover, full throttle, over run ?

earlier on on the way to the gym i gave it some welly as not in as gr8 mood today and the car like completly lost boost then i had to take my foot off the accelelorator and then when reapplyed it was ok again feels a bit less powerfull not a great deal tho!

its smokey on tickover and when i pull away i fill the behind of me up with smoke not too bad when going tho will check my engine oil when i go out tonight !

i had that problem when my turbo went bang, the vanes siezed in the turbo as the bolts had snapped holding the turbo to the manifold.

I hope it isnt, but think you may have blown the turbo, or maybe a hose popped off.......

how is your driving style normally? do u abuse it, give it a hrad time? where do you change gear etc etc

well it not in warranty now exhaust and loads more isd on there will get the lads at my work to have a look with me tomoz at work sound like a turbo must be upgrade time something to smile about has just ghad manifold to turbo bolts changed at seat as the gasket went maybe thats the first sign of it going bang il keep you all updated!

turbo like oil seals have gone on the turbo get it looked at asap otherwise youll knacker you cat lambda sensors and if it gets that bad then maybe the engine

if its white smokle thats usually water blue smoke is oil this will not have anything to do with the exhaust unless its fitted incorrectly
