Hi people,
Found Maplins do a silicone grease in a 50g tube for £3.49, as well as the spray can version. bought some this aftrenoon and proceeded to smear grease in Maf plug. Unfortunately i could'nt form a brilliant judgement on it as theres horrendous traffic in North london at the mo; so will try to thrash car around Epping forest later. My cars a 2002 tdi se recently bought with 74K. I thought it ran well myself although coming home on the M1 a week ago i thought the turbo could have kicked in a bit harder when overtaking. Maf plugs were really clean also on initial inspection i.e no corrosion.

Car does seem to change smoother and pick-up well but this could be in my head. But as i've only had the car a week and a bit maybe i needed to know more of its characteristics previously. Saying this, the drive always seems to get better each time im in it and yesterdays drive was no exception.

cheers davels :)

They're actually LED sidelights :D

Because of the longer exposure on the camera, they appear like HIDs, although they look nice in real life too...

Got them from ultraleds.co.uk, about £5 in total, a worthy investment methinks!

Don't worry about it, I can have a flick around. Was just wondering, as I think I read a couple of pages ago that people were contacting sellers but the sellers had none left. Typically I can't find the posts again now (damn confusing 40 posts/page layout)!

edit - for people who can access ebay, is this the right stuff? And will 25g be enough (I assume it'll be plenty)?

Come over to a Sheffield meet mate, or better yet come to Santa Pod on April 15th and ill give you a dosage for free! It stays in my car now as ive done about 12!

i tried the Dielectric Grease MAF sensor challenge and have to say i am quite impressed tbh! :D

where as before the power kicked in at 1900rpm 'ish, it now feels much smoother and progressive and that the power is more available from 1500rpm!

really suprised it has made as much of a difference as it has! :-o

as read in this thread, the addition of Dielectric Grease doesn't always yeild results but i think for the outlay of £5 (from which i probably still have £4-80's worth) its is definately worth trying!

cheers for the tip and reccomendation on this!
