Apologies if this has been discussed before, can't find a definitive answer.

Does anyone know if it's possible to set up auto side mirrors unfold via ignition on?
FOR MK3 models, I have read some threads where this is a setting in 09 Central Electrics > Adaptation > Spiegelverstellung >

-Funk Spiegelanklappen: Active
-Funk Spiegelanklappung Modus: By look command via remote control key
-Menuesteurung Funk Spiegel anklappen: Active
-Profilfunktion fur Anklappung der Aussenspiegel: Active
-Spiegelanklappung geschwindigkeitsabhangig: Active
-Signalisierung_Spiegelanklappung: Not Active

HOWEVER, IN MK4 model, all I have is the following set of settings under 09 Central Electrics > Adaptation > Spiegelverstellung >

-cp komfortbedienung spiegel anklappen
-spiegelanklappen bei verriegelung
-spiegelabsenkung bei rueckwaertsfahrt
-menuesteuerung spiegelabsenkung
-spiegelverstellung synchron
-menuesteuerung synchrone spiegelverstellung
-menuesteuerung funk spiegel anklappen

(all set to active)

I am only able to fold and unfold via locking. I would like to FOLD upon lock via key and UNFOLD via ignition start.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks, Martin

Thank you mate, but upon throwing the phrase into google translate - wouldn't disabling this just disable the auto fold when locking? (translation: mirror folding when locking). Thanks, M

Check what options you have there. In my opinion is no point to change it as i have a puddle light with welcome message HOLA 😁

I've been investigating with ChatGPT and perhaps on MQBEVO platforms, Module 42 (Driver’s Door Electronics) and Module 52 (Passenger Door Electronics) may hold the coding options? I'm sharing backup data from my vehicle:

Software number: 5Q4959593H
Software version: 0692
Hardware number: 5Q4959593H

52 Passenger Door
System description: TSG BFS
Software number: 5Q4959592H

I have thoroughly tested STG 42,52 and 09, no setting or coding or adjustment brings success
Ah that’s unfortunate. Well, we tried.
I found the next best thing to mimic the desired setting is to switch the mirror position adjustment knob (near the window opening console on the driver’s door) to fold mirrors upon exiting the car. That way, upon next unlock, mirrors will not unfold. The automation aspect is of course absent, as one has to remember to flick the knob out of fold position before departure and back to fold upon journey end before exiting the vehicle.
