i get about four mins out of a properly filled bottle, just a fantastic feeling leaving the skyline, tbh it wasnt that quick it would cream a standard ibiza tho

eeek 4mins?

Much does it skin you?

I think there are so many variables that its impossible to tell wither or not a 300bhp ibiza would pull on a skyline at 280bhp unless you did it, or one of us did........

Spending the same on mods to a skyline as the ibiza it may be different ;)

good to see your enjoying the NOS though :D

Hi All,

What sort of mods are you running on your cupra? I don't dispute you could out pace a stock one if you're running 300bhp. Never been into the GTS scene to comment on how modded most examples are over here.

There are lots of GT-Rs running at least 350 bhp cause it doesn't take much effort to get one to that power and most from japan are already lightly modded to that state of tune.

So about a third of your power comes from NOS which only lasts about four mins before you run out before you go back to 220 bhp  . I take it that when you race other cars you make sure that the race does not last very long then.

Sounds pretty well set up, as I mentioned I've no personal experience what the gts-t are like so can't really comment on their pace. I imagine if you are getting near 300bhp it must shift. I'll be interested to see what you manage in the pod with nos this weekend :)

It's not all power to weight, the torque, how flat your power curve is, traction (off the mark mostly) all come into play.

For example over 7 years ago I took my 1.3 ton nissan pulsar gti-r up the pod, boost (1 bar) and exahust were the only mods had it rolling roaded the week before and it was putting out 185bhp at the wheels (estimated 265bhp at flywheel and 80bhp lost in the 4wd system). What would you expect my time to be?

i.d say mid 14,s......and im off to york dragway as i live just a few miles away from it.
best thing about nos and the reason why i have it is so i can have reasonable traction in first then use the big power when its more suitable ie second onwards

yep spot on I managed 13.2 seconds 1/4. Mostly cause of the traction off the line also it had 247lb/ft at 4200 prm so pretty useful torque. Then I started to mod the car rebore, bigger cc, forged pistons, hi lift cams, skimmed ported head etc etc etc lol.

I've never used nos myself but I can see where you are coming from, get rolling then use the extra power, I am curious to see how much it knocks ff your 1/4 if you managed to get a good run :)

If you manage something in the mid to low 14's with nos considering limited traction off the line, don't doubt you'll give a stock gts-t grief when rolling.

After owning a pulsar for 7 years (just sold it), two rx-7's (one running 350bhp at the wheels was skittish fun) and owning/running a jap importing company for 4 years and importing some nice pieces of kit inc gtr skylines. I now own a new seat leon diesel!!! and I love it I think it's great, slow but great lol.

i had a r33 gts type m like this
100_0243.jpg

and that was about 260 no mods but mapped it was over 300 and they are rwd and have hicas 4 wheel steer the gtrs are 4wd and 4ws and are twin turbo so there is no way you could beat one as you will run out of nos and he will just go past laughing his arse off when you run out of steam at about 135mph and he will go over 160mph i just think you shocked him he was prob not expecting it so just watched you.these cars are fast a friend has a gts type m that has over 600bhp but the turbo is good for 750ish so it dont matter how much it weighs its still bloody quick for an old car.i also know of an old r32 for sale that has all the light panels they come with that has 900bhp and is for sale for about £10000 and its bloody quick.
