I'm obscurely bothered by this attack on Sere, perhaps because I've been on the receiving end of similar baseless strident whining from customers who don't know what they want, but blame you for not guessing correctly from their incomplete description.

The original post is an attempt to damage Sere's reputation based (we later discover) on a conversation reported to the poster by his mechanic.

A more suspicious man than myself might wonder if the poster, or his mechanic, is associated with a rival supplier . . . . .

You might have been a bit hard on chuggy. I know i wouldn't complain about someone everyone seems to know without good reason. Lets face it guys we wouldn't subject ourselves to the abuse some of you have thrown his way if you had ordered the wrong bit. I mean if i wanted a N75 valve then i'd ring seat and ask for an N75 and expect a parts guy with 20 years experiance to know what one was. So you can understand his complaint!

What I'd like to know is what did he intend to achieve from his original post?

Naming and shaming on a public forum is ok when the company have been completely unhelpful and a disaster to deal with from the beginning of the transaction.

In this case you don't seem to have given David a chance to resolve this issue.

I suspect you don't deal with members of the public on a day to day basis. The **** people in retail and sales have to take is unbelievable. Maybe you caught David on an off day, but I think you should cut him some slack. He's .not a robot! From what I've read it seems he is still willing to help you.

If your/your mechanics attitude was anything like your attitude on this forum then I think you did well to get as far as you did.

I'm another one that has spent hundreds through David at Sere's and will continue to be my first choice when getting parts. The service is always top notch and David's an excellent and knowlegeable guy to talk to.
