Seat Media System 2.2 questions

Picked up new Leon Copa Ecomotive last Wednesday. A few quirks with the media system:

1. Manual says that when the unit is switched on, the system starts, and the last selected audio source is played at the last selected volume. If I've had the radio on, next time I get in the car the unit itself comes on but I need to select 'Radio' to actually get any sound.

2. Is the only way to turn the radio off to turn the volume down to zero? Assuming you don't want to switch the whole unit off - could be using satnav for example.

3. Radio dims for parking sensors or mutes when a call comes in. But, it doesn't seem to do the same for the satnav. The radio and satnav just talk over each other so you can't hear the instruction. Is the only way to combat this to set the satnav instruction volume very high? Or can you set the radio volume to dim somewhere?

4. Driving home tonight and DAB suddenly cut out, closely followed by my phone disconnecting itself. An antenna icon with a line throughnit came up in the top left corner. Got home and turned ignition off and on but didn't resolve. Went inside had dinner and when I went back out an hour later it was working again.

Interested in anyone's comments or experiences with any of the above.

Cheers very much.

As for muting radio sound, you can press the phone button on the front of the unit. That's basically a mute button, although, it might mute the sat nav voice if you're using it (this is assuming you have the RNS 310, but by the sounds of the DAB, I don't think you have as I don't think the RNS 310 has DAB).

The others, I've never come across.

Also, congrats, another ecomotive owner! There's very few of us on here ;)

Should just come on

on 2.1 you can press the mute button on steering wheel so maybe the same for you

you can adjust the volume of the sat nav by going into it and select setting

Not heard of this

my leon does the same sometimes especially if its been sat for a few hours

theirs no obvious mute button on the rns315 so i suspect thats the only way to do so.

I also have a Copa Ecomotive, and my Radio on most occasions does not come on unless I select it, it will if the car has just been used, or if you leave it a minute or so, It seems to need (from cold so to speak) time to run through some sort of ECU check before working.
- items 2 and 3 as other have said, not had item 4.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I haven't found any other solutions to my original questions and have just learnt to live with these little quirks.

The radio you just need to turn on each time and if you want to mute it you just have to turn the volume down to zero.

With the satnav announcements, you just have to ensure that the default volume is set higher than what you normally listen to the radio at.

The last item, so far, hasn't happened again.

Yeah, you can press the phone button on mine (but I'm 2.0) to mute, but that mutes the WHOLE sound, not just radio.

Sorry we couldn't help :(

Not at all - it has certainly helped. At least I know it's not just me being stupid! :)

Anyone know how to get speed camera points of interest on the media 2.2 system?

Don't think you can, it's only the RNS-510 that can have it. It's to do with the maps files.

I can link you to the latest maps as they're released every year if you want :)

Speed camera locations would be a tad handy, loving the Bluetooth streaming and dab seems pretty good, going to take a wee while to learn all about this system, but seems a lot more straightforward and user friendly than what was in my S4

Is the map update easy to do? I was thinking about updating mine with the latest maps. I'm assuming they upload from an SD card and store on the media systems internal memory? I've got 2.1 on my COPA Ecomotive

You just download the files, and burn them onto a CD. You then stick the CD in, and it works the same way as the CD you get from Seat. You can then put the maps onto the SD card if you want.

The latest one has 7 digit postcodes.

I have just changed my radio for an RNS 310with 510 sat nav on my Altea 2012. Blue tooth is compatable with my HTC one x when I make a call I can hear them but they cannot hear me is there anything I have missed. Unfortunately, I have not got an instructional manual so I am doing everything by trial and error. Also the maps are on the hard drive how do I find out how many satellites that I am locked into as I want to move the ariel around for best advantage its clamped to the metal side panel in the fuse compartment at present

Also, whats the best way to up date the maps can I download them from the web? your help would be appreciated. The steering wheel controls have stopped working how do I get them back? aggie

Re the sat nav volume. To set the volume when travelling I have found the easiest way is to press the centre button in. This repeats the previous instruction. Whilst this is being repeated, you adjust the volume control. If you do not press the centre button, then you adjust the radio volume. Different colours (red & blue) are shown on the display.

Hi aggie

Press the NAV button so you are in the satnav mode, press the info button, top right hand corner, this will show your current Longitude and Latitude, scroll down the page by turning the centre knob and here you can see how many satellites the unit is using.
