Hi.
I'm looking for some info on connecting and iPhone 6 to the media in port on my Leon with the technology pack.
I am able to connect the iPhone via bluetooth and it plays music and gives some basic control of changing tracks back and forward from the in car stereo controls but it doesn't give the ability to choose specific songs/albums/artists.
I have tried to connect the phone to the supplied media in to USB cable and and the Apple USB to lightning cable and it charges the phone but doesn't give the ability to control the music player from the car stereo. I contacted my Seat dealer and they said that there is a lightning adaptor for the media in socket available but it costs £43.50. I have the media in to Apple 30 pin cable so I am wondering if anyone has successfully used this along with a 30 pin to lightning Adaptor to replicate the functionality of the media in to lightning cable and control the music player from the car stereo and been able to choose songs/albums or access playlists stored on the phone.
I have read some articles which state that the 30 pin to lightning adaptor doesn't fully replicate the functionality of a lightning cable and it also depends on whether you have a genuine apple adaptor or a 3rd party one.
If anyone has some experience of this, it would be great to hear from you, thanks in advance.
