Hi All,

Need your helpful advise...I've put a deposit down on a Leon 2010 1.6 tdi and just realised that it's a cambelt...when do these need to be changed? I am asking because if it means I buy the car and it needs the cambelt done asap, then it's an extra expense...and do not want to risk it snapping/breaking on me!

Any help would be appreciated :)

Cheers!

I would also like to know.
I have a 2011 1.6tdi and it's just ticked over 60k.

Just been to local garage and when guy checked said it's every 140k or 4 years on the 1.6tdi.
Quoted £260 for full genuine VW Cambelt kit including water pump etc.

CAY engines belt change interval is 5 years or 120k - taken from the seat workshop data, sound like the local garages info is a little out of date.

They change the interval from time to time.

personally I'd say 5 years or 80k is a safe guide.
