Hi guys,
Recently bought a Seat Leon 1.6 16V 2001 (petrol). Was driving fine before started idling in stationary state. When it is cold-no problems, but once the engine heats up to 90 degrees, the RPM's are dropping from 1800 to 500 and going back, sounds that the car is suffocating. Visited a few mechanics, no one gave me an exact answer of what is wrong... My mate has checked it with the computer, one lambda was not active, so we replaced it, and nothing changed, idling still persists... While driving, usually I'm usually switching the air conditioning ON just to increase the RPM's to 1900-2000, but as soon as the car stops it is starting to idle again... One of the mechanics unplugged the electrical bit from the EGR valve and the engine started to work like a clock. Took out the EGR, cleaned it and the idling still didn't stop... Even tried 'blinding' the EGR, but idling did not go away. So we unplugged the electrical bit again - engine works fine. So i decided to buy a new EGR valve. Installed it but the idling still persists...
Does anyone have any ideas what can cause this bad engine behaviour???
Will be glad to hear all options.:help::help::help:

Many thanks in advance.

Mistakes

Managed to get an OBD-II cable.
Scanned the car with PCMan programm and it gave me these mistakes:
P0407; P0403; P0123; P0222; P1180
Wiped them, all runs normal.
