Seat ibiza/inca cupra r

I recently bought a 51plate ibiza cupra R with 60k on the clock and a SEAT INCA 1.9SDI van i have used ibiza as a donor vehicle to build my SEAT INCA/IBIZA R....
so far in the last few weeks i have swaped the following from the cupra R onto the van

-complete subframe inc steering rack wishbones ARB and brembo brakes
-engine and gearbox
-abs
-gear linkage
-front panel wings bumper and bonet
-complete wiring loom and ecu
-steering coloum pedal box air con and heater box etc
-dashboard
-fuel lines and sender unit using original van tank


i still have to fit the downpipe and exhaust and carry out a rear disc conversion and few other bits and bobs... seats etc

just interested to see if this has been done before as its been very easy and makes for summin a bit diferent!

oh and yes it has been done I can think of 2 vans off the top of my head with cupra front ends

dale...there are less than 74 now probably about 50 if that I would imagine

Sounds like an ace project.

Always fancied doing the same myself, think it was Greg Howell possible who did the Cupra Inca didnt he? Been sold on since then and I think was having some more work done last I heard.

Its hardly like the R is some unicorn of a car (no offence), ok its rare but hardly the pinicle of motoring excellence.

Ive seen plenty that have been that abused and knackered they might aswell be reshelled into something else.

well its as i imagined... i thought this may upset a few ppl but to be fair it is only an old ibiza its not a hand built prestiege one off car...

I worked for SEAT when these cars were launched and PDI'D them new, they werent that speicial then and they certainly arn't now... and have since modified loads of VAG vehicles within a specialist garage including one off builds.. at the end of they day it will be different from the regular boring mods u see day in day out!

i will upload some pics over the next few days as i am away atm...

i know they are not the pinacle of engineering limits by any stretch, all im saying is there a limited edition of just 75

fair play to you its your money to do what you want with

but there will be a point when their value starts goin up and up cos theres only a handful left

i wonder if youl regret it when someone shows you an autotrader advert in 10 years and you say "doh i used to have one of those"
