Is it just me or has Seat lost the plot. I think that the referance sport offered at the moment is a far better looking car than the FR or Cupra for that matter. Would any other marque offer a car lower down the range looking better than its range toppers?

If you think the FR and Cupra are worse looking than the Reference Sport you are seriously deluded.

It took me a long time to like the MK2 Leon but there is no way I would have settled for anything less than the FR, the front of the car totally makes it much more special.

If I couldnt afford a FR and had to buy the Reference Sport instead I would have been gutted I couldnt buy what I really wanted.

That's the deal I was referring to where you get the reference sport plus aero kit for £16,995. Obviously I don't think the standard car is a patch on the sportier models. I know what you say about all talk but for circa £400 you get get it re-mapped to about 180bhp which puts it on a par at least with the FR and probably hasn't got as harsh a ride as has been complained about on other threads regarding the FR.

Not convinced by the Aero kit, skirts and rear wing are subtle enough. But the bumpers are just wrong with the gaping holes. They don't complement the car, in my opinion.

The Cupra & FR body is more subtle, exactly what i hoped for. It might not stand out, but when you've got the power under the bonnet. Frankly you don't need to. ;)

And as i've said more than once or twice already, having your front door demolished at 3am by some f**ks trying to steal it, is becoming a little too common for my liking. If it doesn't stand out too much from the hot hatch crowd, that suits me fine.

When the pictures of the Leon Concept were released, pretty much everyone loved the styling.

With the exception of the Concept's larger wheels and slightly lower stance (both pretty straightforward things to change), the styling has been carried forward to the FR / Cupra unchanged.

Undecided on the Aero kit - from some angles I think it looks great, from others it looks like a bloated fish.

isnt the reference sport the stylance with the sports pack upgrade?

IF so, I paid 13k for it brand new, so add whatever the aeroo bodykit is to it plus the 18s and see if its still a good deal..

Had a 56 plate reference sport TDI with the Aerokit on and yes it looks great but its a sheep in wolfs clothing and its not a touch on the Cupra..Thats why we've part ex'd it for the Cupra.

gotta say, i think SEAT has lost the plot. going from the superb leon 1 cupra and cupra r, the new car is just wrong. entire branding now is confused. it's no longer the cheap sports are - i'm not certain what it is, don't know what the brand stand for, plus they're no longer reasonably priced, and thedesign is a bit of an embarrassment. every car looking the same? what were they thinking.

sorry for being so negative - it refelct how disappointed i am with SEAT since the Leon 1 was replaced. it's disappointing and a real shame, but can't see me coming back to seat for several long years now. i did take a look over the new cupra, and the looks of it just did absolutely nothing for me...

sorry guys...

Leon FR and Cupra looks fantastic and would rather have the understated looks and the power than in your face looks and not as much power. Don't think Seat has lost the plot at all, but to me it seems its alot of the Mk1 Leon owners who just do not like the Mk2. Personally I believe the Mk2 Leon is one of the better looking cars on the road at the moment, and looks simply stunning when it is in motion.
