Decided to do the Pcv removal, bought a catch can earlier with larger inlets, also managed to get a load of 19mm internal diameter pipework! All I need to finish it is a 19mm t piece and many jubilee's!!

The state of the pipework on the original system is very worn, and has collapsed under the heat etc so I'm glad it's being replaced!! A friend of mine recently did this and said it smoothed the idle and smoothness of the engine so I'm looking forward to getting it done!

So I did the Pcv removal yesterday, pain in the arse, many problems. Never want to talk about it again but on the plus side all the dead pipework is gone! The car seems smoother on idle too! Also gave the car a oil and filter change for piece of mind!

Got a very poor but quick video of my cobra non res cat back too

It's a lot more central in the recess now but the fitment in general of the cobra stuff so far as I've seen is exceptional!

A little update:*

As mentioned I did the Pcv removal, and here's how:

I bought this off eBay, £20 delivered and was advised by a friend that I wanted one with the larger inlets

Then the first step was to follow the Pcv system starting at the tip and removing everything it was connected to. It wasn't a hard job but more fiddly as there isn't much space!*

Once all the old pipework was removed I blocked off the inlet manifold outlets underneath and ran the new pipework from the breathers into the catch an and then back into the inlet.

Apologies as I've lost all the pics of this process.

The finished result looks like this though:

The bay is filthy and pipework hasn't been neatened up in that there are too many ugly jubilee clips on show for my liking but its definatly smoothed out the idle an made the car more eager to rev so was definatly worth doing!

A cheeky pic in the sun whilst I was there, even if she is filthy!!

Im going to spend a bit of time this weekend to make sure it's all tidied up for springfest too :)

In truth I'm not really sure, the Pcv hoses were either completely collapsed and or clogged completely with oily gunk. Since removing the car idles perfectly and seems to have freed itself up. Maybe it's psychological more than anything else but may have something to do with the system being under vaccuum and not being able to operate properly!?

I'm happy it's all gone now though, just a bit of neatenig to do and ill be happy!

a Mate was getting rid of a powerflex dog bone bush and mount, so thought as mine is standard id give it a try as ive heard many good things!

Ive heard a few stories about the vibration these can give off, so I want to check the torque settings before I fit to the car if anyone knows the exact settings?

You might find increased vibrations in the cabin for a little while if it's new, maybe not if it's used. It'll settle down after a 1000 miles or so.

For torque and stretch settings see this thread - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=241757&highlight=repeating

Be careful not to stretch bolts that aren't meant to be (Willie's post tells you which to stretch and which not to) and use brand new bolts, get em from the stealer.

EDIT - meant to say, definitely a good mod, I noticed a nice, positive difference even before I got mapped. Much more direct throttle response and slightly reduced lift on hard acceleration.

Small Update,

Went to the Springfest show at the weekend, was nice to see a few cars ive read a fair bit about etc

I also managed to pick up a mk4 golf armrest complete with bracket and in full working order with no broken hinge or latch, its also in pretty good condition too and all for £30 which is a fairt bit cheaper than what ive seen them go for on ebay!

Once we were back from the show we set about fitting it, was pretty straightforward really, and dont have any pics of the fitting process, but i can report that it has made the car soooo much more comfy on the motorway and I think its something every Leon should have!! Was happy to note aswell that it folds completely upright so when you want to drive more aggressively its well out of the way!

Whilst Im happy with the armrest the top cover of it is in a dark grey colour and so whilst it doesnt look out of place against the cupra r black interior, I will be dyeing it solid black so it matches perfectly!

Pics to follow!

Ive just ordered some black fabric dye to dye the top, hopefully should be with my by the weekend, my plan is to remove the armrest from the car but leave the top on the armrest and leave it to sit face down in the dye in a washing up bowl so it has time to soak through! Ill then leave it off the car for a few days so it dries throughly before refitting

I also ordered some cherry blossom in an attempt to do the 225 steering wheel refurb. As most of the cupra r's the red is slightly visible through the hand grips so im going to follow Sambryant's guide in an attempt to get it up as good as his. Also managed to get some red acrylic paint to refresh the top red strip as its a bit dull

Hopefully it all arrives before the weekend so I can make a start

As promised the pics of the armrest:

As you can see it folds up so its completely out of the way but when its down it makes motorway driving so much more comfy!

You can probably see also the colour of the fabric lid before I get the chance to dye it solid black. Im thinking it'll blend in perfectly

Best mod I did, it should have multiple adjustments. Mine is no where near the handbrake just a click away.

Yea it folds nicely out of the way of the handbrake, I leave it in the lowest setting pretty much all the time, I find that I can change gear with it perfectly still but makes the car soooo much more comfy!!

On a side note, I came out to the car after saturday nights rain to find the drivers footwell about an inch deep in water! After a search it seems the leaky door fault could be to blame so im going to whip the door card off and start there!
