I gave the camera fitting a go last night, decided to mount the front camera on the passenger lower honeycomb grill. All fitted and working, above being a lot of fun for passengers it's actually very useful in tight parking situations! Plus it hardly notices:

I also took the opportunity to give the car a good clean, the salt had turned the car white so am a lot happier now

Apologies for the guff iPhone pics, I promise to get some better ones soon with a proper camera!*

Also im hoping to get the car to amd when I get a chance, however before I'm thinking I want to build a bit of reliability into the car, was thinking a new set of coilpacks, afm and a new n75 as one join is a bit weak and has been glued back together..

Would you bother or just go straight for the map?

Looking good sam, I'd defo get the n75 sorted before the map as for the coil packs you make a little more power replacing them but personally I wouldnt bother until they need replacing.
Have you tried calling seat uk? There was a recall on coilpacks on some of the 1.8 t's May be worth a go?

I haven't tried that yet actually! May be worth a shot! The car still boosts perfectly although I think your right in replacing the n75, more for piece of mind really!

As for the coilpacks I'm thinking of changing them as I use my car everyday so having a few spares can only be a good thing! I remember in the days of the 200sx if carry a couple spare in he boot as I
Had a habit of destroying them!

Need to fit the rear camera now then it's hopefully off to amd when I can, was thinking after seeing a recent thread that a badger5 v2 80mm tip may come first though

Always good for piece of mind mate, quite a few people have experienced them let go during or after mapping. Never had any trouble with mine....famous last words. As for the tip since combining mine with a jetex I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Makes it a lot more pokey up the rev range ;)

Cool, something else to add to the list of want! Will be all the better when done! Is your car mapped, only ask as im not sure id see a difference on the standard map switching from the forge tip to either the sfs or badger5 80mm...

In other news I'm trying to think of somewhere other than the rear numberplate to mount the rear camera, was thinking of maybe somewhere inside the car around the parcel shelf area... Not sure whether it would come out ok though. My only reluctance is I like the look of the non gb plate more than one with the blue gb edge as it looks cleaner.... Any other ideas??

Yes mate, ive got a jabba map ;) although I added the tip afterwards so perhaps not the best idea? Think I will get mine tweaked once I go back in for a service.

In regards to the rear camera have you thought about down near the rear tow eye? Or would that be a bit low.

That may be worth considering, not too sure how it would mount on the curved surface, I'll have a play around I think and see if I can find a suitable comprimise!

Quick update:

Yesterday I fancied giving the car some tlc, so after a thorough wash and clay bar plus interior clean I ran over the car with the da with some meguiars 205 and then sealed with a nice thick coat of collinite 476.*

I do love the car when it's this clean, plus emocion red is one of the nicest reds out there IMO!!

I'll let the awful iPhone pics do the talking:

During

Tucked up every night!

I've also removed my double son unit and went back to a single din unit, reason for this is that I'm moving out soon and won't have the luxury of a garage so for security reasons it made sense!

The whole conversion package and stereo is all up on eBay now by the way... :)

Freeing up the cash from the stereo is also allowing me to spend money on performance parts, so hopefully in the next week or 2 I will be ordering a cobra non res cat back system.

I've read good things about them and couldn't justify the extra for a milltek *as they seem the same to me!*

Would most people recommend a non res over a resonated system? I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts and videos if anyone has any??

Thanks for looking!

Thanks mate, it really does pay off, it's hard work to keep on top of though if you use it everyday!

I've heard that and it's definatly on the list! My plans for the next few months maybe longer are in order as follows:

Cobra non resonated cat back exhaust
Full service including 4 new awesome gti coilpacks
Either a black SFS Intake pipe or a V2 80mm
AMD stage 1 map

I'm hoping to build a reliable 270ish into the car but would rather do it right than rush it and for the car to be full of comprimise!

A little but awesome update :
A little parcel turned up today for me in the post…. Wonder what that could be 
94ef4cd4.jpg

After it was unwrapped:
d95b7330.jpg

As im the most impatient human in the world I set about fitting it there and then, first of all was to remove the old system from the cat back. The bolts were predicatably shot and completely rusted and rounded off if you even looked at them. The grinder soon made short work of that.

Had to cut the original backbox off as it was proving impossible to remove. Could probably have dropped the lower beam more but was only ever going to be binned so decided to make my life easier.
Then the fitting of the new system. For those of you who haven’t seen it’s a Cobra Non resonated cat back exhaust with a standard looking 6x4 tailpipe trim. So it retains the OEM look im after. The build quality and service of the Cobra is extremely good, everything lined up first time with no problems or leaks so I would DEFINATLY recommend them against the more pricey options (milltek blueflams etc etc)

Im yet to get a decent pic of it fitted but heres a few quick ones before and afterto give you the general idea:

After

Im very pleased with it so far, sounds mad on boost but isn’t boomy or droney at all on the motorway. Need to wait a while for it to coke up as its all new so will expect the sound to change a bit but all in all im very impressed!

Update

I dropped the rear coilovers a bit yesterday as the rear was looking a tad high, it's brought it down nicely now, a few pics after a wash yesterday:

I'm pretty happy with how it sits now!

Also managed to hook the car up to vagcom and do a few logs of boost airflow etc and thankfully everything seems to be running perfectly which makes a change for me and the days of the 200sx's!!

It did however indicate the airflow at idle was too low... Not too worried as it idles perfectly but if it was a cheap fix??

I also still have no centre console illumination, noone has had any bright ideas!

Very nice car mate.
I recon you forgot to plug the connector back into the dimmer switch on your lower dash when you removed it to get to access to your stereo etc.

Thanks for th comments, it's not bad as it's used daily! That sounds promising, I'll take the panel off I think and check it all over :)
