Pabs i had this problem a little while ago. to remedy it i:
1 – Took the pipe off and cleaned it with soapy water
2 – Cleaned the surface of the connection (the plastic bit in your case) with de greaser
3 – Put new clamps on
Never had a problem since. Most of that was advice from samco and it has done the trick. I know the clamps are expensive but if there fecked there fecked!

Im standing by my hairspray thing as well....

well known tuner told me that trick where the pipe has had oil on it, helps seal it on...it works along with decent clamps

nope - no kinks elsewhere.
Its because I changed it from std to samco - then from samco to DV Cold side kit. Its not been on long.

Pabs,

Did you manage to sort out the hose problem, i'm considering fitting a full samco hose kit to my LCR, did you notice any performance difference when you swapped them over from stock?

I also agree with, halo 25, hairspray can work a treat. but make sure you dont put on too much as it will never dry and act as lube. If that fails you can use tennis racket grip, wind one strip over the plastic cover then put the hose on. never fails, I used it on an old piper X Viper kit and it was solid as a rock for 20k miles.

what happened after 20k miles then? lol ;) only joking - you prob sold the car or something!

I havent "solved" the problem yet, but doubt I will either. Its back on and its not leaking, but not sure how long it'll be on for.

I'm getting an FMIC in the VERY near future, and so the hoses will need to be changed (again) for this, and so it'll fix the problem then :)

The grip fell off got sucked into my throttle bodies and blew the whole lot!!!!!!!!

Kidding, I returned the car to standard air system and box but with a K&N pannel. In all seriousness the grip works, you could even use black sticky electrical tape but its not as good and you'd need to wrapp it around a few times, bit messy.

I've got an LCR an am considering revo 1 would you recommend the hoses?

If in doubt fit two screw clamps alongside each other, it used to be done on old aircraft and Perkins Diesel engines pressure lines - sometimes old idea's are the best !!??!!

right - well... Cars back from having ARB's fitted tonight (wow - big difference too - solved all my knocking problems AND it handles better IMO so woo!!! yey!)

They looked at my boost hose as well, all seems ok.
However, the noise I'm hearing is much quieter than before, but its still there. All hoses have been looked at by both garage and me, and can't see anything abnormal, so either i've got a hole somewhere (perhaps lower intercooler hose bit??) OR I've got a leaking intercooler......

Good job an FMIC is in the pipeline eh?

the noise could be the air rushing through the squashed pipe on the inner driverside wing (it wasnt replaced for the higher flowing version pabs no?)

sorry brendy? You mean the lower intercooler hose - the short stubby straight bit? (no rude comments here please)

Why would it be squashed?

Update:

Hoses have been checked - noise is still present although much quieter than before. Now, i know it could still be the same issue, but I'm doubting it now as its been checked more than twice by 2 different people.

I'm wondering if it could be a hole somewhere, a hose, or perhaps in the intercooler itself? Now that is only a suggestion - i have no idea if its possible - not got a clue what could make a hole in a SMIC - not like a stone could get up there easily - i'd have thought near on impossible....?

I'm going to have another search around tomorrow. But the noise is definately sounding like its coming from the drivers side of the car - I am certain the noise sounds like around the boost gauge area, like it was coming in up the A pillar, but when i open my window and drive it sounds quite loud outside too - my car sounds more "wooshy" than normal (under load) and either the DV or the turbo is whistling more than before. If I can, I'm going to remove the DV relocation kit and see what it sounds like then.

Its annoying me, but I'll find it. Car doesnt feel underpowered or anything, which is confusing.

The carbonio CAI doesnt sound as "throaty" as normal, like Darth vader's balls havent dropped quite yet (lol), so I'm just not sure where/what to be looking at first :(

When I get a weekend or something when I don't need my car, I'm going to clean my air filter.

I'm confused? The std hose is flat? And the Samco one is round? The hose is about 10-15cm long, yeah? the one in the 4 piece samco kit i didnt fit cos it looked an arse to do?

TBH if it is that then I might leave it - getting an FMIC should mean it'll just get changed again anyway?

Thinking I'm gonna remove the dv relocation kit tomorrow if possible - I'll have to leave the T piece in but I can block off the pipe with the ali end cap that is used in the original DV location.

the forge kit doesnt replace the flat bit, every other bit just not this bit as its hard to get a round on in its place iirc

hmmm ok - I'll make sure when the FMIC gets fitted that I supply the last hose of my kit then - get it fitted at the same time. Might help matters a bit :)

the forge fmic kit contains everything you need so your old kit will be defunct, maybe worth punting on to someone still running std?
