Aguilo, the original south african lights are horrible, they are split lights with the indicator being seperate, the ligts on my polo at the moment are imported from brazil.
Here you can see the original lights on the left, and the imported ones on the right.
Completley missed this just read it all what a transformation my friend.

Love this thread, boring family saloon turned into something uniqe and smart just good old fasioned modding at its best here. If im right polo classics have the same front end as the cordoba and ibizas, do you rekon the brazillian lights would fit my cordy??

Im pretty sure they will fit, although you might need to change the grill surround then, think the shape is a little different, not 100% sure?

Grille is a different shape, polo's had smaller light units as i recall.
Im sure the polo classic is different to the hatchbacks though, ive seen a few places theyre closer to cordobas. Still im sure theres a nice light kit out there somewhere..... morretes arent for me though haha.

I love those headlights man. I am from SA too. In London now and have the abf Hatchback like the polo. Had a polo back home too. With those headlights mate, are they for RHD or did you have to have them modified for SA roads. Not sure what side of the road they drive on in Brazil hahahahahahahaha.

How did you go about ordering those?? did you go to a vw garage with part numbers or a website or what?? Also do you have the motor on it to tilt the headlights up and down if needed?

Havent posted in ages, was going to sell the polo, and stripped off some goods, and then decided im gonna keep her again, so started some modding. Nothing major.
Sold the 17" LM's and fitted some 15" lup wheels. Was getting tired of the hard ride and not being able to take corners at a higher speed.
Had some 20mm stubaxle spacers made up from billet aluminium.

Replaced the engine mounts with polyurethane, as you can see the original ones have taken plenty abuse.
We were not so lucky as to get cable shift boxes in the polo, we have to live with shitty link shift, so decided to replace all the bushes with polyurethane and made up some of my own solid links to stiffen up the play on the lever. Shifts are solid and smooth now.

Oneday browsing around in the local breakeryard i came upon a Audi TT shift ring and boot and i had an idea. So purchased it.
Some steps of the TT ring base build.
Console taped up and 2 layers of fibreglass done.
Mould cut to shape and mount ring glue'd in place.
Floral foam used to shape it and then fibreglass laid down.
Then some bodyfiller used and lots lots lots of sanding
Then used some duplicolor trim paint when i was happy with the finish.
and the end product looks like this, still need to snap some pics of it installed in the car.

I love what you've done with the car. I have a polo classic myself and it's stock except the front grill. The thing that really bothers me with my car is that I can't see anything when reversing in a pitch black area when it's raining. It seems to me that these brazilian lights have two reversing lights altogether? Is this true? If so, where could I order a pair? This would be a great solution for improving reversing visibility and also to make the car much less boring
