S vs SE spec cars

Hi,

I am new to the SEAT toledo but am currently looking to buy a 110 TDI to replace my aging Nissan Primera. Finding it difficult to find the right car at the right price.

Bit confused about the various model variations.

Can anybody answer a few questions.

1) Did they fit steel wheel to S spec car on 02 & 52 registrations and alloys on the later and earlier cars

2) Do S spec cars after Nov 2003 have rear elec windows, front spots and cruise

3) Are there some TDIs cars without the front spots

4) Should I just wait until I can find an SE spec car

Sorry to ask such blindingly obvious questions. I am finding quite a few of the non-SEAT dealers a bit vague about the cars as well.

thanks

The diesels were odd, i know alot of them didnt come with fogs and alloys

My 1.8 petrol did come with them tho :S

I think some of the diesels did come with alloys and fogs tho also but most of the 110 Tdi's i have seen had steelies

I have a Toledo TDI 110 SE on a 51 and comes with:

  • Cruise control
  • Front/rear foggies
  • Traction Control
  • Arm rest
  • Trip Computer
  • Leccy windows all round
  • Electric folding mirrors
  • 6 CD Changer in dash
  • 12v out in boot
  • ABS
  • EBD
  • Climate Control
  • 15" Pepperpotish Alloys

Only Toly i've seen with steelies was a 1.6s on a T plate. Every other car has had the standard 15" alloys from 1.8S to TDI SEs

My tolly is on a T (99) and came with fogs and alloys.
It had standard air con (not climate) and no electric rear windows...

If i had been SEAT educated and it wasnt such an emergency when i bought mine, i prob would av looked for an SE! more toys

I know of three TDI 110's that came the same as mines, that was with no AC, fogs or alloys.

Perhaps because TDI's are more expensive they have removed these to keep a similar price?

Edit - forgot to mention my car has a trip computer and a clock and traction control, I've seen some Toledo's which dont.

ABS came on all Leon's and Toledos, as did the 12v in the boot and headphone sockets in the rear.

I think I have found an SE

Thanks for all the replies to my post. This is obviously a very active and helpful forum.
From what I can gather the spec on the S model seemed to vary from one year to the next, probably due to pressure from big customers to trim the cost of the car. I have located two 2002 TDIs with steelies and two with alloys. It also appears that not all cars have ABS fitted.

Anyway it looks like I have found a 2004 Eclipse Blue 110 TDI SE with all the toys fitted as standard. The mileage is a little high (30K) but there is 17months SEAT warranty left. The price is within budget (well almost!).

Looking forward to viewing the car when it arrives at my local SEAT specialist next week.

Let you know how we get on

Nothing high about that mileage... its a TDI - its barely run in!

I'm currently at the 38K mark the now and my car still feels like new.

If the price is right go for it, I like the eclipse blue ones, not as common.

Not to worried about the miles. If the history is OK it should be fine. It just means the car is devalued by around by £1000. By the time I have run it for four years it will even out anyway.

Can't claim to have found a car without ABS but the dealer at Forfar says he has. Strange gap in the Parkers guides from Aug 2000 - Jul 2002.

ABS can be a bloody nuisance when your car starts to age. Primera failed MOT because the ABS light came on due to dirty wheel sensors. Brakes still worked as well as a non ABS car.

Hope all the gismos on the SE are reliable.

evenin all, ive just bought a 52 tdi se,
and its loaded, 16" alloys, climate, leccy everythin,
abs, eds,trip comp, etc, etc,
you sure to get a lot for your money

the only thing that turns me off about the tolly is the bland looks :(

reality is, (I looked at a 1.9 TDi sport 150) about £3k less than a leon cupra, and it only costs about £800 for front and rear bumpers plus some decent alloys :)

the Tolly never got recognised as a "sports" car, but i would have one tomorrow, given that i could do a "leon facelift" on it straight away :)
