Found my mums old steam cleaner! IS RIGHT!!! :cartman:
Seats are getting a good cleaning ready for VWNW

Does steam cleaning seats actually give a decent clean then? e.g. does it get rid of tough stains? (god I sound like a housewife!!! :ban:)
Just with the sports I do I'm always getting mud & salt water stains on the seats which never come off with that 'cleaning' crap halfords sell!

Also, now I can't make it to the national meet at paegant of power  I'm considering going to VWNW, so may see you there!

I'm not like you guys...
So ive not been on for a few days, you know how it is.
Paid my fine, still sortin gettin my license back though, and renewed my insurance...

So this weekend, if weather prevails, I think a good clean is in order.

Need to get a decent chamois leather, sealent, (already got wax/polish + shampoo) back to black(or watever) and I need to sort the interiour out as its grubby as anything.

Any tips for DIY-ing the seats?

I work next door to a used car place, and one of there valaters told me to use, fairy liquid on a cloth, rub it into the fabric, and a damp cloth to remove it.

Anyone done this as I dont want to **** them up even more, trying to get everythin nice and clean for the VWNW meet lol

ANy advice always appreciated

Ha, i'm in the same boat as you mate, trying to get the car all nice and clean for VWNW. Just bought some very good gloss dash board / plastics cleaner from halfords which works very well! Just need to work out how to get the scrapes and scratches out of the plastic trim now!

What back to black did you get? I got the 'CarPlan' one, and it's crap, washes off when I wash the car!

I thought you were gonna steam clean the seats anyway?

after some experimentation with the steam cleaner, its sh1t. lol
Tried to do the stairs, but it just has a slight clean patch and it emphises the rest of the crap, so i dont want to try that now. Might steam clean round the engine though, get the grime and **** off the cylinder head and rocker cover

as for back to black, ive used that, it is poo isnt it lol
My mate let me use some autoglym rubber and vinly stuff, thats what im gonna get, was good.

Im just gonna go have a nosey in halfrauds now and see what theyve got

Any other recomendations on sealent? Can you not just buy some out of halfrauds as I dont want to be waitin on delivery...

lol, good job you tried it first before using it on seats!

Halfords has been my second home recently. They've got 3 for 2 on ALL cleaning products. So I've been stocking up! lol

Never used sealant before, not 100% what the point of it is??? What does it actually do then?

see my above post mate!

as far as i know, it "seals" the bits where the polish dosnt get in, and keeps the shiny glossy sexyness look on the car for longer

Its gonna be my first time using it, cuz i spend hours cleanin me car when i get going, gf is always moanin at me, haha but I have a legitimate excuse this time so wheeey :D

Yeah I saw you said it 'seals' the paint, but isn't that what polish does too?

So it's like a spray polish almost that lasts a long time? lol. Sorry if sounding a bit thick with this, just not got a clue about it! Although am interested in this stuff now if it can keep car shiny for longer!

I hate the actual cleaning of it, but love the polishing of cars and seeing that lovely glossy mirror effect! Just debadged my car, and can get a really nice mirror effect now on the boot!

I'm not like you guys...
because paint isnt smooth mate, its slightly rough, so when you polish it, you fill some of the gaps in, making it look all nice and glossy (to do with the way the light bounces off it or sumthin) and when you use a sealent, its like another layer ontop of the polish, to make it even more smooth, and i think its made up 'harder' so aswell as another 2 layers, it adds protection to the paint.

As far as Im aware anyway, I could of just said a complete load of b0llocks though...
