Got the mag and had a read, nice work Rob :) Saw you'd stuck your name down for the VAG RR day at Wallace, hopefully meet you and your car in the flesh there.

Nice work Rob, I've just recently joined the LCR club with an 05 plate one and as a bit of a car nut myself have been reading through this forum for inspiration, your car story is one that I have read from start to finish and I went and got Redline because your car was in it. Awesome bit of kit and a fantastic and informative read, Thanks pal :)

Thanks for all the nice comments about my car and the mag feature.

2011 updates - I have sold the Corbeau seats as I didn't find them very comfortable, the large bolsters were too narrow and dug into my ribs, so they had to go. Fortunately I got a good price for them and used the money to buy a full set of LCR seats in mint condition. I would have gone for LCR Recaros with the 2+2 rear seats but couldn't find any!

I decided to go for the LCR seats as I like the black with red stitching, it's more sporty looking that my current black and grey Cupra interior (even though they are Recaros!) I wanted to keep the airbags too as I have decided to keep it as a 100% full road car. I am still planning to do trackdays and 1/4 mile this year, but I won't be stripping the car or fitting buckets seats etc.

Pics soon.

I think I can safely say that the AD08's are now scrubbed in. After a long blast down country roads I can honestly say that these tyres are awesome! The level of dry grip is huge, I can actually feel the Quaife diff working on corners now where before the Falken tyres would be scrabbling for grip. Wet grip is also very impressive for a tyre of this type. The sidewalls are stiff with no hint of rolling over on hard corners, but they are not crashy over bumps and they are not really noisy at all, you can hear some road noise but to me it is lower than the Falkens.

The Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 is an awesome tyre, really gives you confidence to attack corners that I would have backed off on before.

Overall I love these tyres and rate them very, very highly. If you're considering these for fast road/trackday get them, they are awesome! :D

going back over old ground .......

how have these tyres been during the more colder / wetter months?
thinking of getting a set for the summer, once the winter wheels come off, but wonder are they any good in the wet? .......as we all know how good our summers can be

Took some pics of the interior since changing the seats from the black and grey of the Cupra to the black with red stitching of the Cupra R. The whole car needs a huge clean inside and out, haven't used it much or cleaned it since November I think!

The last pic shows the alcantara handbrake and gaiter. Rather than paying a fortune for genuine SEAT LCR items, the handbrake cost me around £10 and the gaiter £7. The handbrake cover is a Honda Civic Type R item, I removed the leather from the plastic under it and modified the R item to fit the Leon lever, after some trimming and glueing it turned out pretty good I think. The gaiter is a Golf Mk4 item and went straight on without any changes. I can't use an LCR gearknob because I have the B&M short shifter which changes reverse to lift up instead of push down.

Also, rather than spend £40+ on LCR vents with the red bit on them (which do not illuminate at night), I simply bought a touch-up kit from Halfords in SEAT flash red for £8.49 and painted my own S3 vents, so I can keep the illuminated vents! Finally I am still waiting on a centre bezel and badge for the steering wheel, once fitted that will finish everything off nicely.
