Hopefully the end of the month. They quoted me £255 + VAT to machine the housing, fit larger compressor wheel, 360 thrust bearing, re-work the actuator arm for better boost control and also fit a 1.5mm oil restrictor because the GT2X doesn't come with one and the 1.8T runs pretty high oil pressure, so they're fitting one to bring it down a bit for the turbo oil seals sake!
If it adds 20hp then that's me up around the 300 mark.
So far CR Turbos have been really great and REALLY know their stuff, very fast turnaround too I believe.
Thanks for all the cool comments, yes it's a shame I'll miss F&M but nothing I can do about it.
My turbo will be going off to CR Turbos for upgrading very soon, within the next 2 weeks hopefully.
Yep, I wish I had the facilities at home to take the turbo off myself as it's not a hard job, but I don't so Star will remove the turbo, I'll send it to CR, when it comes back I'll have Star refit it and check the mapping and do a dyno run to see what it's making.
Closer look at the Bailey Focus RS tank:
Downside was it kept overflowing, so it has been removed and the larger black Bailey tank is back in. I sold the small one to a Focus RS owner!
ditto Rob, glad to hear you found their customer service satisfying, very good company indeed (cheers for the recommendation)
thats about a £100 more than the work I had carried out, is that due to the oil restrictor? they fitted a much better actuator arm on mine as well
mine is being done on Monday next week, so will let you know the outcome, so keep your eyes peeled on my build thread
Readily available from here: http://btc-direct.com/index.asp Pic on the front page, I had mine powdercoated satin black.
