Well I'm totally confused - my insurance is due at beginning of June. Last year I paid £695 all in.

+ Lowered suspension
+ FMIC
+ Strut braces

Another year of no-claims bonus (6yrs) and this puts insurance UP by£140 odd???? No way. Especially when they quoted me £540 2 weeks ago.

I'm gonna be 24 about 6days before insurance renewal - didnt think tesco's did modified cars either.

HIC are on my to-do list.

Liverpool victoria - were astonishingly cheaper than everyone else for me on a heavily modified 3 series bmw. The difference in the quote was almost as extreme as if I had moved to a completely different planet. I couldnt believe how cheap they were comparitively to the other "usual suspects" for cheap insurance on modded cars. The difference being that they dont consider modifications to increase the risk, so you are insuring all the mods, but only paying for the basic car.
Nice. I urge you - call them

Just to add to previous comment. I was lucky ebough to do a job where I could spend a couple of hours a day phoning all the insurers for quotes each year. I got a pretty good idea of what goes on.

If you are a "typical" low risk person with a clean record and a sensible car I think the tesco, direct line, admiral, adrian flux, etc etc are OK. But if, like me you dont match the perfect demographics these companies want, then they are absoutely utterly ____ing useless.

No one EVER, has even got close to the quotes i get from Liverpool Victoria for a modded car, or Chris KNott for drivers with speeding offences. These two are in a league of thier own, and I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else now. Cchriss KNott were £4000 (yes that is 4k) cheaper than the best of the rest on a quote for a Merc SL.

Right, Liverpool Vic don't insure modified cars anymore. I told them it was lowered and they almost put the phone down on me.

Just ran my details through the Liverpool Victoria site and it came out 25% more than I'm paying with Direct Line - I've never been able to find better prices than DL. When I had my LCR, even when it had been Revo'd, I couldn't find lower quotes anywhere else.

Greenlight said £950 with nwe turbo, intercooler, lowered, brembos basically the whole whack load and producing 250BHP...

Its worth a shot... bearing in mind they are £1300 less than the AA... for me anyway.

Sent them an email this evening about in induction kit, so see what they say.

You heard bad things?

so your best quote is 493. Look at the difference in price!!! From 1400 to less than 500. I'm impressed you've tried 15 places. Mine's up for renewal so far only tried a few including one posted on here Green Light -but they turned out to be 100 quid more than my best quote! Good Luck! I'm sure you'll get it below 475..

BTW Did you try Norwich Union??

I won't get it below £475. £490 was with directline, but thats with 0 mods - and I obviously drive a modded car so I can't really go with them. My best bet at the moment is AF or Sky at the moment.

Gonna try NU now.
