Just a quick question

How can I remove the rear seats in the Mk4?

I can get the bottom bit off (the bit you sit on) but what about the back rests?

Do I need to take the bolts out at the bottom?

Cheers!

Drop the backs forward, then looking in from the back of the car look at the bottom right and bottom left of the folded seats, You will see a recess that a bolt from the bodywork fits into, using a screwver slide the cover up and then bring the seat back up 3/4's of the way and then push it forward, the outer edge should move out of position now and then you need to get the inner side off of the central bar.

Piece of piss to do once you know, they are heavy too

Okay thanks, I will give it a go in the morning.

Do you mean the back rests weight a lot, as the bottom parts are quite light I thought?

Out of interest, does it really make the car noticeably quicker?
Or is it just the different sound that gives you that impression?

Unfortunately, I should have known this earlier, as the car is going up for sale very soon :(.

yeah they are heavy , it took three of us to lift em out, must weig in at about 100kgs a side,

Sorry i meant heavy in comparison to what they are, but remove the seats and the spare wheel and it makes a serious difference to the overall weight of the car
